Adrien furrowed his eyebrows as he overheard Marinette let out a small laugh. Marinette never laughed like that around him, she was always so stiff and awkward.
"—Be the maid of honour, of course," Marinette told Alya. "Juleka, Rose and Mylene would all be my bridesmaids."
"Manon could be the flower girl," Alya interjected, causing the girls to "aww" simultaneously.
The girls leaned over Marinette's shoulder as her pencil flew across her sketch book. "Add more ruffles here," Rose suggested, pointing to a particular spot.
Adrien walked up behind them quietly, peering over Marinette's shoulder. He caught his breath, the dress was beautiful. Cap sleeves embellished with lace and beading along the torso. He pictured Ladybug in a dress like that, smiling at him as she walked down the isle.
"A-Adrien," Marinette stuttered, suddenly aware of his presence. She slammed the sketchbook closed.
"Planning on marrying a special someone?" Adrien teased her, trying to draw her out of her shell.
"Uh- Yeah!" She giggled nervously. The girls leaned forward, she was finally going to do it.
"Really? Who?" He asked, curiously.
"Well, you see.. The funny thing is.." She trailed off, "Its y— I mean, it's uhh.. Chat Noir!"
The girls sighed in disappointment, leaning back in their seats.
Adrien choked, "Chat Noir?" He asked, incredulously."
Marinette smiled and nodded, internally screaming.
"Heard we're getting married, Princess," Chat leaned lazily against her windowsill.
"Chat!" She cried, her face heating up, "I'm so sorry! I panicked!"
He chuckled, it was a carefree sound. "It's not a cat-astrophe. I'm just kitten around."
Marinette groaned, embarrassment forgotten, "Don't start with me Kitty."
"But Purr-incess," he whined, a grin on his face and his green eyes twinkling beneath his mask.
She dismissed his pun with a flick of her hand, "We have patrol to do, Chaton."
They both paused as her words sank in.
"My lady?"
