A little drabble on the scene from the ending theme song of the new Fairy Tail episode. :3
"Erza is going to kill me," a salmon-haired teenager muttered under his breath as he ran down the streets of Magnolia. He was late for his shift at the café and his childhood friend-slash-supervisor was going to turn him into minced meat.
He was a good twenty minute run away from the café, which could have been reduced to a mere five minute bus ride if Natsu would man up and get his ass onto the bus. He'd choose being murdered by Erza any day over taking transportation.
The boy continued running towards his destination, knocking over a few people along the way. He soon reached a long path covered with fallen leaves from the trees that were aligned along the pathway.
Natsu smiled. He always felt at ease whenever he went down this path. He would love to slow down and take in the beauty of the surrounding but he was extremely late. He picked up his speed and ran down the path.
As he ran, he noticed a small figure walking in the opposite direction.
Natsu's eyes widened when he could make out the features of the approaching figure.
She was breathtakingly gorgeous. Her golden blonde hair flowed past her shoulders and ended slightly above her hips. He swore he had never seen such beautiful brown eyes in his entire teenage life. Simply put, he was drawn to her.
Natsu stopped in his tracks and turned back to take another look at the girl.
Sensing a pair of eyes on her, the blonde turned around to find a boy with a peculiar hair colour staring at her with his mouth slightly opened.
Before he realized what he was doing, Natsu spoke up, "Would you like to grab a cup of coffee with me?"
He mentally scolded himself when shock ran across the girl's face. Of course she wouldn't take up his sudden invitation. No girl in her right mind would agree to hanging out with a random stranger.
"I'd love to."
Natsu blinked at the unexpected answer. A smile slowly forming on his face as he stuck out his right hand, "I'm Natsu."
The girl smiled brightly at him as she shook his hand, "Lucy. Lucy Heartfilia."
Screw Erza and the part-time job. They can wait.
