Matt POV (at the firehouse)
It was currently 8 o'clock at night and Gabby and I were laying in my office on my cot talking. We were talking about her finally introducing me to her parents. She was so excited that I would meet them because they knew she had been talking nonstop about this guy whom she called Casey. She told me at first that they were confused because they thought that she liked guys. She told them that at the firehouse we go by last names and then they caught on. When she told me the story I couldn't help but laugh. We were going out with them and Antonio and Laura to dinner on Thursday, today was Tuesday and Gabby couldn't be any more excited. At the moment she was wrapped up in my arms, she had just started to doze off when the bells rang. "ambulance 61 gunshot wound to the chest" she quickly jumped out of my arms and gave me a kiss on the lips.
Gabby POV
As soon as to heard the bells I jumped out of matts grasp and gave him a quick peck on the lips before running out of his office. Shay and I ran to the ambo, her jumping into the drivers seat, and me jumping in the passengers seat. When we arrived to the scene we ran upstairs to the floor where the victim was. We walked through the open door and saw the woman with the wound in her chest. Right behind her there was a man holding a gun. "STOP" he yelled. Shay and I slowly tried to back up but he then yelled at us again saying "I TOLD YOU TO STOP!" Shay and I froze and then he spoke up again, pointing at Shay he said "you leave" the pointing at me he said "stay and fix her" Shays eyes widened and said "I'll call him" very softly. I nodded and went over to help the victim. From in the room I could hear Shay talking into the microphone saying "hey chief its Shay we have a hostage situation, please get police back up and bring truck 81" I leaned closer and before I knew it I heard Casey yelling from downstairs for Shay. She talked into her microphone again saying "Casey 6th floor on the left, but be quiet, the shooter has Dawson in his grasp." I heard the guys running up the stairs. I turned around and saw Casey standing in the doorway. The gunman quickly saw Casey and wrapped his arm across my throat. He pointed the gun to my head and I started shivering. Casey took another step towards me and said "listen man let her go she has done no harm here." The man responded saying "quit talking to me man say one more word and i will shoot." "okay, but take me not her, she did nothing wrong!" casey said. "I mean it man one more word!" just then the police ran into the room and shot the man. He fell to the ground and dropped his grasp on me. Antonio ran in and put on the handcuffs. Matt ran over to me and wrapped me in the biggest hug he probably had ever given me. "I love you... I love you so much." matt said. "I know I love you too" I said. he kissed me on the lips and chief Boden came over and said "hey gabby, how about you take the rest of shift off." "no I'm okay chief, really" I said. "no" he said in a stern voice "I mean it" as truck 81 took me home since I rode with Matt to work and he needed a way to get home after shift I was sitting with Matt, him talking softly into my ear saying "when that call came through..." "I know" I said "im sorry" "its not your fault" he said. We arrived at Matt and I's apartment and I told Matt I loved him before exiting the truck. when I got into the house I felt this ache in my stomach. I ran to the bathroom and threw up. I had no idea what was going on. I immediately called Laura, Antonia's wife, and she said "are your pregnant?"
