My first Full Moon thing in such a long freaking time. Wow.
Anyway. Izumi x Meroko (as always). Pre-manga, post-Izumi-sort-of-dumping-Meroko.
He watches her, sometimes.
Some might call it stalking, but that's not the word he uses. He calls it watching. Watching and waiting.
She goes about her days as before, just with a new partner. She stares at that new partner—Takuto—with adoring eyes and a flushed face, confesses her love for him over and over, hugs him happily.
All under Izumi's unseen eye.
He sees her new love, sees the way she looks at her new partner with all the adoration of the world—the same adoration she had once bestowed on Izumi.
He knows that this is how it will always be now.
He's lost her—lost her forever, all because of a mistake he made on a gray and rainy day. Because he was too weak to hold her, too weak to open up his heart and let her in.
Too weak to love her like she deserves.
And now she's gone for good.
He knows this, but still he watches. He's lost her forever, and still he can't turn away.
Just as he was too weak to love her, he's too weak to let her go.
I don't know when or if I'm going to write Full Moon again. I'm more into other fandoms now. But I am still reading Full Moon, so maybe that will inspire me. We'll just see how it goes.
