Authors Note:. Yes, I know it's nowhere near the holidays, but I'm in a fluffy mood, so nya! ...I was listening to Happy Ending by mika when I wrote this o.o.

Snowy

Crack. A piece of dark chocolate dies.

"Linda, why won't you kiss me? Its Valentines Day for Christ's sake!" Matt shouted, running after his 'valentine'.

"You're a jerk, that's why!" Linda flipped her brown locks and stormed off.

"Hmph." The redhead glared at the floor.

Crunch. More chocolate sacrificed.

The blonde looked away from his best friend's love life and out the frost encrusted window. "Who decided Valentine's Day was to be celebrated when it's still cold out." He frowned, taking another bite of his candy.

Matt looked up. "Because hearts are cold," he muttered bitterly.

Mello shrugged, looking back out the window.

Little orphans in winter coats danced and chased each other out in the snow, some of them blushing as they gave out their valentines. In the nearby forest, Mello saw a black blob moving behind the shadowy trees.

He blinked. That wasn't an animal; Roger's security would've caught it.

The blonde dashed out of the room, grabbed his coat and rushed outside.

Smiling like the sun he ran into the forest. He was here. He'd finally come.

Mello dodged the snow, stepping only on the empty earth, afraid of being tracked.

He hopped behind an oak as he approached a small car, a black classic. Holding back his sudden urge to laugh, he snuck behind the car as soon as it's passengers exited.

A smirk was threatening to grow, he hadn't been caught. Quietly he edged forward until he was close enough to pounce.

The guests were standing in front of Roger in the middle of the cold as he reported to them. Watari had needed to check up his House for some time. As for the prodigy that stood next to Watari, he was fully alert, big obsidian eyes scanning the area around them.

But he never saw Mello coming.

The blonde sprang like a bullet and landed on an unprepared L. Laughter was heard as they both tumbled to the ground. The seniors stared as Mello sat on top of L, beaming.

L blinked before raising an eyebrow. "Impressive."

Mello continued to smile vitoriously.

Then the world flipped over as L jumped up, throwing Mello over his shoulder."But I bet even you can't beat me to the chocolate." Mello fell to the ground as L dropped him, running toward Wammy's House.

The blonde just grinned, racing after him through the snow.
