Author's Note: I had already posted this before, but that was in January, and since Valentine's day is coming up, I decided to re-post it. Since Valentine's Day is coming up, I thought I'd write a fic about a card that Squall gives Rinoa for the holiday. I know it's really short and kind of mushy, but I'm a hopeless romantic J Please read and review. Thanks!
Be Mine
Rinoa Heartilly sat on her bed, staring at the card in her hand. Just minutes ago, she had been walking down the halls of Balamb Garden with her boyfriend, Squall. Just as they had reached her dorm he had handed her the card and told her that as soon as she finished reading it, to open the door, where a surprise awaited her. Then, he had given her a mischievous smile and left.
Rinoa held the card in front of her, seeing how long she could last before she opened it. Finally, she gave up. The suspense was killing her and she was dying to see what the card said. She ripped open the envelope and pulled out the card. On the front, there were multiple, glittery hearts of different colors. She opened to the inside of the card. It read:
Dearest Rinoa,
You are my very purpose for living,
You are that bright star up in the sky,
You are my savior, my angel,
The light at the end of the tunnel,
The rose in the barren desert,
The one bright ray of hope,
You are my life
Rinoa sat there, smiling, with tears in her eyes. Then, she remembered Squall's message, to open the door after she finished reading it. 'What does he have planned?' She thought to herself. She stood up and gently placed the card on her bed. She made her way to the door, pulled it open, and found herself staring at Squall. He took her hand and got down on one knee, revealing a small velvet box.
"Rinoa Heartilly, will you be my wife?"
Rinoa burst into tears and said, "Yes, of course I will!" As they kissed each other.
"Squall, what you did was the sweetest thing in the world!" Rinoa exclaimed.
"I just did it because I love you." He said.
"I love you too, Squall, I love you too."
