Let's Pretend It Never Happened

He could just pretend that that moment hadn't happened; that he had been innocently walking to his bedroom when he'd caught Sirius Black walking out of the bathroom, naked. Water was dripping from his torso and running down the sides of his face from his hair. It had been quite a sight, Ron wasn't going to deny it.

If anyone asked, he had not dreamt of a nude Sirius that night, nor had he the following three nights. If anyone asked, he dreamt about Quidditch and the Cannons winning after so long. He had it all planned out in his head.

In fact, he would just pretend that whole incident never happened. That was probably the best way to go.

"Coffee, Ron?"

Ron jumped at the sound of a voice very close to his ear. He'd been watching Hermione study over some book that would apparently help with Harry's trial, that he hadn't noticed Sirius standing behind him.

His ears betraying him, he turned his red face around to Sirius. The only living heir of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black was smirking, as if he knew what Ron was thinking. Hermione continued to study the book, oblivious to everything.

"Er, no thanks," he said, turning even redder.

"Hermione?"

Hermione glanced up, looked at the pot in Sirius' hand, and nodded. "Yes, thank you," she said absently. "Thank you."

After he'd poured her a cup of coffee, Sirius joined them at the table. Complete and utter silence befell them after that. Ron didn't know what to say, and suddenly became very interested in the wall in front of him. He tried very hard to block the image of a naked Sirius emerging from a river in slow motion out of his mind.

...

"Did you listen to a word I just said, Ronald?"

"Huh?"

"This… your room… Harry's coming tomorrow, Ron!"

"So?"

"Pigs live better than this." Molly Weasley was storming through Ron's room, her wand opening all drawers and cupboards where Ron had stashed everything away.

Ron only shrugged. "We live together at Hogwarts, Mum!"

"I hate mess!" Molly said, her voice on edge. "But I love you, Ron, so please, for the love of Merlin, clean this up by tonight." She gave her son a very hard look and then stormed from the room, bumping into one of the drawers as she did. "Ron!"

Ron didn't answer, but stared horrified at what had toppled from the drawer. Oh no.

Molly picked the picture up, looking at it. Her face then turned as red as any Weasley's, and she thundered from the bedroom without a second thought about her son.

"SIRIUS! SIRIUS BLACK, YOU TELL ME RIGHT NOW WHY YOU HAVE PICTURES OF YOURSELF HIDDEN AWAY IN MY SON'S ROOM. AND THEY'RE NOT JUST ANY PICTURES! SIRIUS BLACK, WHERE ARE YOU?"

Ron wanted nothing more than to find a place to hide, for Sirius had not hidden pictures of himself in Ron's room, nor had he taken anything of the kind. In fact, they weren't even originally of Sirius. With a little manipulation and a little underage magic, the Muggle photograph was only charmed to look like Sirius.

With a groan, Ron realised that within the next hour, those secret dreams he'd been having would no longer be secret.

Why had he been so careless?

Well, we give every pairing a go once, right? But never again. This was very hard to write. Very hard. But I gave it a go :)
