You're hiding again, locked away in your office; your loyal guard deflecting everyone's advances.
The story broke this morning, the headlines screaming the tale for all to hear.
My fellow colleagues are only smelling the fresh blood; some may worry about you but it's the story they're ultimately after.
All I want to do is engulf you in my arms; to protect you from everything and show you that no matter what you're loved.
If I could make the story go away, I would.
If I could bring you that reporters head on a platter, I'd make sure it was sterling silver.
If I could whisk you away to a secluded place, I would.
If I could change the past, you'd be a queen upon a throne.
I read the story like everyone else; from left to right, top to bottom.
Unlike everyone else, my first thought was only of you. The desire to be a rabid reporter with foam frothing at the mouth crushed by the white knight inside.
I never thought it would happen.
But it has.
And it feels good, damn good.
That's how I know you're the one.
