Summary: After the burial, Hermione thinks about her relationship with a certain Weasley that is now now more. Based off the song Almost Lover by a Fine Frenzy. Fred/Hermione.
"We know pay our last respects to Mr. Fredrick Weasley. Though his body may decease his soul, will live on in each and everyone of us. Mr. Weasley will never die completely as long as we all keep up his charming ways and remember him forever." The preacher finished his speech and the casket was put in the ground.
Taking a look at the crowd you could see that all the females had tears in their eyes. Mrs. Weasley was hugging her husband, crying into his shoulder, while he rubbed circles on his back.
For a mother, this was one of the worst things that could happen to you. Mrs. Weasley never wanted to see her children die before she did. But the war was unpredictable and the outcomes were horrible.
Ginny was, like her mother crying on somebody's should, except this shoulder was attached to Harry Potter.
When you looked at George Weasley though, especially if you looked into his eyes you could see his soul. His soul was empty, but was soothed by Angelina Johnson, his current girlfriend.
The one person who was not being comforted, was Hermione Granger. Though she wouldn't show it, Fred being gone hit her more than anyone would know. Before she left with Harry and Ron, Fred and her were engaged and were going to announce it to the Weasleys after the war.
" Hey Fred. It's me, Hermione, though I bet you already knew that. You always were the one who could guess better. I'm sorry I didn't see you more in the last year. Harry, Ron, and I were kind of on the run. I missed you though, more than you would ever know. We listened to Potterwatch every chance we could. You don't know how good it felt to be able to hear your voice and know that you were alright."
"Fred, honey, I wish you were still here" Hermione was sobbing now, "everything would be so much better. We would be getting married in a few months, and we would be together, and I just don't know what to do anymore. I love you Fred! I'll be back soon, the others are waiting for me."
Hermione left sniffling and crying.
Though she would never admit it to anyone, Hermione missed the way Fred would touch her, kiss her and love her. He was her almost lover and that was all he could be to her. He left her in a world without him, and she would never be able to truly love him all her life. For in life, things got in the way.
Hermione went to bed that night and the following nights that year crying and wishing that she would just wake up and have this all be a dream, but that was just a dream for her. A hopeless dream.
A/N: Okay sorry but I was listening to my Ipod and this song just reminded me of Fred dying and how sad his girlfriend would be. Also I have recently discovered Fred/Hermione and I love that shipping.
Please also check out my other stories, I have one for the Harry Potter and three for the TV show CASTLE.
