Ven ran away from Aqua and Terra. They just made it pretty clear that they didn't want him around. He turned his rider on and quickly left his home in search of a new one. Perhaps, some friends, too.
Watertown NY
Lightning wandered in the graveyard. It was dark and it was her turn to patrol. Between the 3 slayers in Watertown, she was the middle one. Bubbles was the youngest, being 16 and Leaf was the oldest, being 22. Each was 3 years apart. None of them used their birth name, not even they're allies/team. Harm was a black man with an afro who got annoyed with the 3 girls he lived with. Alton was their watcher, assigned by Giles himself. They would have a full squad but Buffy and Giles didn't want so many girls in one spot so if they needed anything they had to go down to New York City.
Lighnting was 19. She had (recently died) light magenta hair and wore a black leather outfit, while hunting, anyways. Watertown was such a small town, only a half an hour away from Clayton, which was a touristy place. She was born in Cape Vincent though and was glad that when she became a slayer, she didn't have to leave home.
Lightning continued to wander when something caught her eye. No. Someone. A blonde haired kid was collapsed on the ground. She slowly went over and shook the kid.
"Hey," she said. "Get up."
The kid opened his eyes. They were blue. "Who are you?" he muttered.
"Lightning," she said. "You?"
"Ventus," Blondie said, "Or just Ven."
"Why are you out here alone?" Lightning asked, her somewhat motherly instincts kicking in.
Ven blinked. "I'd rather not talk about it." He said sadly.
"Ok," she said. "Come with me, it's not safe out here alone."
Ven started to shake.
Flashback
"VEN! It's not safe out there alone," Terra shouted.
"Like you care," Ven spat at Terra.
"What?" Terra said, shocked.
Ven spun around and ran off.
End Flashback.
Ven shook his head, that last unpleasant memory was not something he wanted to remember right now.
"You ok Ven?" Lightning asked.
"Fine," he spat. She looked shocked but didn't say anything. "Sorry."
"It's ok," she said. "We need to find a new name for you." The idea just hit her. Plus, with a name like Ven, Relena would eat him alive. Relena was a total bitch who you didn't fuck around with, Harm learned that the hard way, she didn't want that to happen to Ven, he could keep his innocence a little bit longer.
"Why?" he asked.
"Well if you want to forget your past life, start with the name," Lightning said. "Like mine, I wanted to forget everything, so I changed my name to match me."
"Ok," Ven said. A name that matched him. That required thinking.
"Well," Lightning said. "Your eyes are blue, like the sea so maybe something associated with water."
"I guess," Ven said.
"No, not guess," Lightning said. "You have to be sure."
"Ok," Ven said.
"Are you like a spike of some sort?" Lightning asked.
"I don't know," Ven said.
"Well your hairs spikey," Lightning said.
"So Spike?" Ven said.
"If you want," Lightning said.
"I like that," Ven said.
"Ok, so your name's Spike now?" Lightning said.
Spike nodded.
"Let's go," she said, they both got up and left the graveyard.
The Land of Departure
Aqua and Terra were in awe. Sure, they said some stuff they didn't mean, but it wasn't like Ven to do something this rash.
Aqua was now rambling to Terra all the bad things that could happen to Ven.
"He could be starving or die. Oh God. He could get raped for all we know. There are dangerous worlds out there that he couldn't handle. What if he's killed?" Aqua continued to ramble. Terra had never seen her like this. It was a little disconcerting.
"Aqua, Ven's not stupid. He can take care of himself," Terra said. I hope. He added to himself. He didn't dare say it aloud.
Aqua could only agree.
"What's going on here?" Master Eraqus said, coming up behind to 2.
Terra and Aqua looked at each other. What were they going to say? Ven heard them complaining about him and he left?
They really didn't have a choice.
Terra explained everything.
"Find him," Eraqus said. "I will deal with punishments later."
Terra and Aqua nodded before going back to quickly prepare for finding they're lost friend.
