I wrote this all at once on a sudden inspiration. Sorry if anything seems odd, I haven't read the manga in a month or so. It's the first thing I've ever dared to actually upload, so please let me know what you think! All comments and criticism welcome :)

The Pink Rose

Chapter One

I can feel her…

I can't see, but I can sense her presence…

The Domina...

"Hey, Anis!" I call out to her from where I'm standing by the school gate. "The harem's still going strong, I see."

"Stop calling it that! It's embarrassing!"

I laugh and walk casually over to her, trying to act as naturally as possible. I knew who the guys round Anis really were, but she didn't know I did. Neither did the Rhode Knights, although the dark creepy one had been giving me a few odd looks recently. Mind you, being odd seems to be a requirement for Rhode Knights. Not a single one of them would be able to pass unnoticed on the street. Except perhaps Kaede.

"Kaoru? You still here?" I look up, startled. Anis is watching me with a peculiar look on her face.

"Yeah, sorry. Listen, meet me on the rooftop at lunch, okay?"

"Sure, but… why?" Anis says, with a puzzled look that would have made me laugh were I not so preoccupied.

"Good… see you, then." I hurry off to class without a backwards glance.

Shit… I'll have to tell her now. How the hell am I going to say it?

Morning classes pass in a whirl of confused thoughts, and all too soon the bell is ringing for lunch. I break free of the crowd heading for the cafeteria and head straight for the roof, hoping to get some fresh air through my brain before Anis arrives.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like my streak of bad luck will be ending any time soon. Anis is already standing by the railing, but thankfully she's left her harem somewhere else. I quickly decide that actions speak louder than words, and cross the space between us in three large steps, push my biggest secret into Anis' hand and retreat back downstairs. I intend to hide for the rest of my life. Goodbye world, it was nice knowin' ya.

I don't get very far, however, before the first few telltale rose petals begin swirling around me. I sigh, seriously regretting my decision to reveal myself. Far too soon the world blurs and dims, brightening again moments later to show Anis staring at me in utter bewilderment.

"Kaoru, the Pink Rose, at your service," I say woodenly.

"Kaoru?" Anis gasps in shock. "Wha-… Wha-… Eh?"

"My sentiments exactly," I agree. "I mean, why pink?"

"But… But… How?"

"It's a long story," I say evasively. I now know the feeling of wanting to sink through the ground. It's not pleasant.

"Tell me," Anis says commandingly.

I am Kaoru, Pink Rhode Knight.

First chapter, so it's a bit short, sorry! When/if I continue it, the next chapters will be longer, promise! I am far more likely to write more and quicker if you review xD. I should be finished with the next chapter soon anyway. Probably by next week sometime. :))
