An Unknown Love
Hermione smiled and sighed blissfully as she ran a comb through her hair and added the finishing touches to her makeup. Over the years she had developed, both physically and socially. She now spoke to more people and new almost everyone in the school. Her body had developed to make her one of the most attractive girls in the school. Even Draco Malfoy could not argue with that fact. Tonight, however, she did not care for Draco's opinion of her, or of anyone else's for that matter. Tonight only one boy stood in her mind, making her body tingle with excitement. Today she would reveal to him that she secretly loved him, she had done so from afar for many years, and as a seventh year she wished to be with him. That boy was the one and only Harry Potter.
Love is the first whisper
of a breeze upon thy face.
Love can be sudden,
at any time or place.
She walked gracefully down to the Entrance Hall where she was to meet him. Giving a small giggle she rounded the last turn and stopped in utter shock at the sight before her. Harry was kissing a girl, Ginny to be precise. She wasn't even spotted as the two parted and walked towards outdoors.
Love will warn you
like the sun upon a dark-clad back.
It will straighten you
like an arrow on a ne'er twisting track
She could not hold back the tears that began to flow from her eyes as she ran off, going to the one place she knew she could find sanctity: The Astronomy Tower.
It will make a perfect person stand
where the flawed once stood.
It will soften hearts around the globe,
be they iron or wood.
She stepped out onto the deck to find that she was not alone. In front of her and rushing to her side in concern was her other best friend, Ron Weasley. She hugged him tightly, and cried into his arms. He stroked her hair and murmured comfortingly into her ear. Finally, she pulled away, and looked him in the eyes.
"I love you Ron," she said quietly, and searched his eyes for an answer. He only smiled.
"I know that, its one of the few things we both know," he chuckled, then kissed her softly. The two shared their first kiss content to know that they would be in each other's arms forever.
But this I say to end my words
at least for here and now
Love is simple, yet unique;
and nobody knows how
A/N: Ok, that was my second short fic. Most of you seemed to enjoy my first one, so I'd wrote another one. This story is deictaed to my younger cousin who is ill but always manages to find a way and brighten my family's days. If I get enough reviews, I might do a sequel/prequel. So please R&R to tell me if you liked, hated or were semi impressed with my story!
