High Bird Post

Poetry

Summary: Bella's morning routine, as seen by Edward. AU, set years after the series. Short Poem.

A/N: Hey! Bet you weren't expecting poetry from me… I'm pretty happy with this. It evolved from a fifteen-liner to a fifty-liner quickly. I like it now, but… I'm sure I'll laugh at it in years to come, due to its repetitive nature.

Oh yeah, don't turn back because of the pairing.

He sits

On his high bird post

Upon the tallest tree

Daintily

And watches.

-

She wakes

In her large empty bed

Within her not-so-empty house

Quietly

And stirs.

-

She walks

Feet padding against the floor

In the hallway to the kitchen

Softly

And kisses her husband.

-

He sits

On his high bird post-

That dirty, dirty wolf-

Angrily

And watches.

-

She cooks

Breaking the eggs just so

Cooking the food to perfection

Humbly

And eats.

-

They sit

In a comfortable silence

Achieved after years of love

Silently

And go their separate ways.

-

He sits

On his high bird post

Upon the tallest tree

Sadly

And watches.

-

She dresses

Putting on her fine clothes

Slipping on her shoes

Quickly

And exits.

-

She stops

Locking the door behind her

Checking once out the window

Carelessly

And leaves.

-

He sits

On his high bird post

Upon the tallest tree

Smiling

And moves on.
