Prologue
Mikan's POV
Ever since I, Mikan Sakura, had come to Alice Academy it had been like my second family. Hotaru, Anna, Nonoko, and even Sumire had become my nosy but loyal sisters. Ruka, Tsubasa, Koko, and Yuu were my stupid but caring brothers. Everyone fit their roles perfectly…everyone except one.
Natsume Hyuuga.
We started as enemies but gradually moved toward friendship until we had a special bond of trust between just the two of us. I thought that was the end of our relationship, nothing more and nothing less. I over looked the fact that he had stolen my first kiss on Christmas, I even over looked the name calling. I considered him one of my best friends and took the subtle caress to my hair and the way he would gently place a hand on my lower back as affection he couldn't show via words. I took it as a sign of our friendship.
So when, at the age of 13, he backed me up against a his sakura tree and kissed me softly I was definitely confused. But instead of confronting me he just acted like usual going back to the simple touches and secret caresses, so I shrugged it off as overly active hormones.
At age 15, while doing a project for history in his room, he grabbed my face roughly and kissed me again, this time so intensely my legs gave out in a matter of seconds. Once again confused I confronted him; he said he just wanted to stay friends, nothing more nothing less. I suppose by then whether I was conscious of it or not I had grown addicted to his touch, his caress.
Which is how I finally realized just what Natsume Hyuuga was to me:
A friend with benefits.
End Prologue
Plushy: Heh, you weren't expecting that one were you? Ok maybe you were, I suppose it was kind of obvious by the fourth paragraph…so how did you people like it? Good? Bad?
I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it even though its short. Its been a long time since I've written in first person so I feel as though I'm a bit more personal with Mikans character.
Anyway don't expect immediate updates, thanks to the summer my mind has shut down, though I do plan to finish this story.
PS. I'm having serious writers block on One of Them if you have any ideas for how I should start the next chapter do tell. As for TUC (the ultimate chase) the next chapter should be up very soon, though I'm not sure it will meet your standards.
