Lacy here with an episode tag that I should have done AGES ago. It's for Haunted. I know, I know, it's been done to death and I already have two stories for it for my different series. But I wanted to do one that has nothing to do with those or LEC, when I finally get there. So, here we are and let's have some...nope, ain't having no fun here. Why? Cause Aaron's a moron!

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Emily watched Aaron cuff Darren Call before saying he couldn't stop the man from shooting his father as he moved from the house as if Death, or Dave, were on his heals. Emily glanced briefly back at the room before following Aaron out of the house. Dave and Morgan could easily take care of the scene. Right now, she had to pull in her temper and calmly scold her boss for being an idiot. At least until they got home. Then all bets were off.

She waited by the porch as he pulled his suit jacket back on and replaced his gun on his hip.

"If that had been one of us," Emily said softly as Aaron moved to stand in front of her. "what would you be doing right now?"

Aaron sighed. "I'd be trying not to yell so we wouldn't cause a scene but I'd be scolding whoever it was for their recklessness and stupidity."

Emily nodded. "Exactly. Now, since you're our boss, we can't do that but that's here." she stepped a bit closer. "You're not safe from that when we get home."

Aaron dropped his gaze as Emily's attention was called away from him. Yeah, he was in for it when they got back.

Dave watched Emily and Aaron leave the office and saw Morgan heading for him. Oh, he so didn't want to have this conversation. Yes, Aaron had screwed up. The whole team saw that but Dave did not need Morgan riding his ass about it. It was annoying, irritating and disrespectful to Aaron, since they'd be talking behind his back.

He sighed. Things were only going to get harder around the office if Morgan kept pushing at him and the others to second guess every little thing Aaron did. Hopefully Dave could get Morgan to understand that he and Emily had Aaron under control. They were not going to let their friend, or in Emily's case, boyfriend, spiral out of control.

"He's not alone." Emily said, referring to both Darren Call and the man in front of her. She was so scared she was losing him.

Aaron sighed. "I should get some sleep."

Emily nodded. "Go ahead but I'm not going anywhere." Did she have to spell it out for him?

"Emily,"

Apparently.

Emily stepped up to Aaron, killing any space between them. "You are not alone, Aaron. I'm here and no serial killer is going to make me leave. No serial killer is going to scare me away." she tossed her keys over onto the table. "I love you. I'm not letting you go through this alone."

Aaron saw the honesty and love in Emily's eyes and felt his resolve break. As much as he didn't want to put her in danger, she was right. He couldn't do this alone and honestly, he didn't want to.

"I love you too." Aaron said before he pulled Emily into his arms and held her close.

Emily held herself up on her elbow so she could see Aaron's face as he slept. Unlike before Jack and Haley got sent away, Aaron's face wasn't peaceful, even asleep. He was still haunted, day and night, by what Foyet did, what he took away.

Sighing, Emily curled up against Aaron's side and gave a small smile as, in his sleep, he wrapped his arm around her, holding her tightly, as if afraid she'd disappear.

"I'm not going anywhere, Aaron." Emily whispered. "Sleep. I'll be here in the morning."
