This is another story based on facts that I've read about the Harry Potter stories. This one: Lily was a month pregnant when she died. I did the math, and the child (I like to think a girl) would have been born in June. I've been told that I'm good at depicting the surreal, so there you go.
I feel a kind of exhilarating rush, then open my eyes on the scene I just left: A warm summer breeze ruffling the long grass, towering mountains covered in lush green vegetation in the distance, and a single, tall oak tree in the middle of the wild flower-spotted valley. The scene of a perfect June.
I feel confusion; Why am I back here so soon? From all I've been told, a person has to be born, live, and die before they return to their paradise. I stand up, suddenly aware that I look like I'm in my mid-teens. But I know better. I'm an Age-old spirit, who had waited in this beautiful place to be called to live with my parents and brother on Earth. I know I have an older brother, because I've met him before. I've also met my parents before; we planned it all out, you see. We found each other before any of us were born, and we decided we would be a family.
I start walking—no, gliding. Spirits don't walk, we glide—around the valley, searching for…something. I don't know what.
I see a woman standing and looking at the mountains, and as I follow her gaze, I see something that was never there before: a Grand Castle, perched almost at the base of the mountain and tall enough to almost reach the top. I stand by the woman, not able to take my eyes away from the beautiful structure.
"It's Hogwarts," the woman next to me says. At the sound of her voice, I turn and look at her, and I am shocked to see it is my mother. Red hair, bright green eyes full of confusion. I know that I had chosen to look (for the most part) like her; I have long red hair, but my eyes are hazel. My brother and I agreed it would be fun to be opposites.
"Where's dad?" I ask. Mother sighs, looking sad.
I feel a hand on my shoulder, and I look over to see hazel eyes and black hair. Dad. He looks sad, too. Neither of them should be here. Not without Harry.
"Where's Harry?" I ask. I look around, half expecting him to appear.
"We might find him at Hogwarts," says Dad. "Or on the Quidditch pitch. I hear he's an excellent Seeker."
"Then let's go watch," Mother says.
Together, the three of us glide slowly towards Hogwarts.
I suspect that right about now, some of you might be confused. Mother, Dad and I just arrived in our paradise. Why would Harry already be at school? But you see, the essence of Time was only created for those living on Earth so they could make sense of their lives. Here in our paradise, we don't need it. Five minutes to us could be ten years to living beings.
As we reach Hogwarts, I see my brother walking down the corridors with two friends; a red haired boy and a girl with frizzy brown hair. They look like they're still first years.
It makes me sad, seeing Harry being so happy and alive. Especially since I know that we, as his family, will never get to join him.
"We'll watch over him, right?" I say, not taking my eyes away from Harry.
"Of course," says Dad.
"Always," Mother says.
Well, this is just a one-shot, because if I were to continue, it would just be the books from another point of view. Some of you might think, If he had a sister, why didn't he get her with the Resurrection Stone? Because he didn't know about her. Neither did James (But once returned to the astral plain he knew her.) Anywhoo, this is just my opinion, don't take it as fact. Reviews are appreciated!
