The philosophy*of sameness was applied to many communities including Jonas's in the book "The Giver". This philosophy insures that no pain, hunger, war etc. shall occur in their world; this effect has been produced by climate and genetic control. However this also creates consequences such as the disability of citizens (except the receiver of memory) to see colour, feel warmth make choices and obtain experiences that we take for granted.
This system will work in our world due to the fact that genetic control will erase all memories of our previous freedom therefore we would not riot or cause mayhem because due to the disappearance of the memories we would not have or remember what to riot about. However even though this philosophy will work in our world it would not be a wise decision because this process will eliminate our right to make choices and use our intelligence, which are the two things which make humans unique. Therefore applying the philosophy of sameness will obliterate our uniqueness, making us into equivalent of that of an animal. That is why the philosophy should not be applied in our world.
