Sometimes Death is a Funny Thing
Sometimes death is a funny thing,
Alex thought.
He knew his luck had run out.
Run out, like time in a day.
Too long,
And yet,
Too short.
The mission would be easy they said.
Not dangerous at all.
Simple.
Get in.
Get out.
Simple.
Easy.
Walk in the park.
Ha.
He should have seen through their lies.
No backup
Few gadgets
All on his own
As usual
What's different?
Alex thinks that maybe they wanted rid of him.
But then he laughs,
Because,
Why would they?
He was the best after all.
Was.
And so,
Staring down the barrel of a gun,
Having just completed his mission,
Alex knew his time was up.
The Rider luck had finally run out.
About damn time, he thought.
His parents
Ian
Jack
Hell,
Even Yassen
God was not on his side.
Karma had smiled upon him.
He was a dead man – boy – walking.
Sometimes death is a funny thing.
It's what everyone fears,
Yet few know they can't outrun it.
Death comes for everyone in the end.
Alex smiles.
He's made his peace.
Bang.
Well that was depressing. I'm sorry y'all. This was just my thoughts on what Alex might think as he dies. I don't know why it's in a poem form. It just kinda happened. In this, I imagine that Alex is about 17 or 18. America didn't work out, but the Pleasures aren't dead. Alex was just too far in and had too many enemies. Maybe I'll continue this at another point with other character's reactions. What do y'all think? Please let me know.
