This is a simple poem written in the character of Samwise Gamgee. I am only using the character's perspectives on events..I did not create The Lord of the Rings nor the characters..only what follows. Thanks to Tolkien for all his inspiration.

Lights In The Waters

Branches hang like claws of Stone...

Looming over the dark unknown...

Its here our guide leads us afoot..

Here in the land of rock and soot.

A battle is said to have been fought here long ago.

A battle fought by the elves men and their foe.

Although impossible to you it may be so..

That those who've perished are still trapped below.

Below the ash the waters stand still..

The wind hurls by the land with a deepening shrill.

Lights in the water flicker as you walk by..

Whispers in the wind forever sigh a tormented cry.

Will those souls ever rest..or will they always be distressed.

None can say..not you not I..for what will be for those who lay.

Laying in their coffin of glass..here their time too soon had past.

Past away like sand taken by sea..Never again shall they be free.
