Long, long ago, a young girl, who had gotten lost in space in an attempt to deliver a Luma back to its mother, had grown into the protector of the cosmos, and the overseer of the Mushroom World.
One day, however, she sensed a dark threat lying beneath the depths of Toad Town. This threat, in 26 years, would swallow the Mushroom World in darkness and bring it to ruin. Deciding that she would not let it be, she decided to bless seven children with the power of the cosmos. These seven Star Children, as they were to be called, could be called upon to save the world from this threat.
And two of the seven begin the journey to their parents right about now...
The Stork, having been called upon for yet another delivery, walked into the Baby Room, and saw the twins he was told to deliver. Unlike previous deliveries, he saw from the start that these two were special. One wore a red hat, the other green, and they both radiated with a golden light. Looking at their name tags, they read 'Mario' and 'Luigi.' While there was a third child that looked like the both of them, whose name tag identified him as 'Stefano,' he was not listed on his delivery appointment. Looking at the address that he was supposed to deliver the twins to, he scooped up the twins in his beak, and flew off to the destination.
The third baby was picked up by another stork, and went the same way as the first one, having the same destination.
Kamek, caretaker of the young Prince Bowser, reported to King Morton about his urgent discovery. While Bowser would succeed him and bring great prosperity to the Koopa Kingdom, which pleased the old Koopa King, he also reported that any attempt at dominating the Mushroom World would be foiled by two dressed in red and green. Pulling out his crystal ball once more, Kamek stared into it, and he saw the twins that would stop the conquest of the Koopa Kingdom were currently being delivered by a simple bird, with another next to it.
Kamek swooped onto his broom, and old King Morton sent the faithful Magikoopa off to intercept the delivery. Grabbing his walking stick, he walked over to the young Koopa Prince. His time as king was coming to a close, and he wanted to teach his son that to be a proper ruler, one that must treat their subjects with respect... it was a practice that many Koopa Kingdom rulers adhered to, hence why most of their troops never rebelled.
The Stork, flying above a tropical island, saw that there was another stork flying right next to him. Giving the other bird a quizzical look, it also showed the destination of its baby, showing that they were indeed flying to the same destination. Pressing forward, the duo were caught off guard by a Magikoopa, who snatched two of the three babies they were carrying, and also capturing the two birds. Cackling in triumph, Kamek set off for the Koopa Kingdom, falsely believing to have accomplished his task.
Unbeknownst to him, the baby in red, known as Mario, fell all the way down onto the island...
Yoshi walked across the colorful plains of Yoshi's Island, incredibly happy at the news that his mate was expecting in about four months. Soon, he would have a son to call his own, one that would be the new leader of the Yoshi clan! Walking back to his shared residence, he was planning to write to his cousin on Egg Island about the wonderful news, when, all of a sudden, something landed on his saddle. Looking back, Yoshi saw that it was a human baby, which was something that had almost never appeared on the island. Incredibly curious about this baby, Yoshi decided to bring him to the other members of the Yoshi clan to see what they should do with the baby...
