I am scratching my prototype story, in place? A slave story. Why? Because I'm out of ideas. I am waiting on something else to catch my passion, I haven't seen any of these, and this was a pretty decent last ditch idea I had about a human slave AU of Remnant. Hey, I think I made a statement somewhere that I can't remember that there will be a two-story per fandom quota I made for myself, so no complaints. And about my other stories, here's the deal: I am a man of my word. But, the catch is that there is no due date to my promise. If I say something, It will happen...eventually. Anyways, enjoy the chapter. (Pairs are obvious), (Heavy and a little on the dark side slave AU), (No Grimm), (Modern time with horse-drawn carriages still around). (My first time with pairs and dark stuff, heavy criticism is wanted). (Oh, and sexual abuse, abuse, and other bad parenting stuff that happens too. So for the faint of heart, please don't read.), (And I don't know if this is necessary, but I don't own RWBY
"Alright," A man said. A click resounded in the dark room he was in, followed by another. This time, it dissipated the darkness. A lone lamp sat on an old wooden table with a recorder next to it. A camera sat on a stand behind an occupied chair. The man himself had a navy blue suit and red tie on. His face was wrinkled and his hair, although had a dull light green look, was receding with his age. "Mister..?"
"Please, just call me Firestick." Another man said, sitting across from the other. He was leaning back in his chair, so his face was too dark for the other to make out. But what he could see was a white trench coat with red accents along the zipper line.
"Firestick, right. Anyways, I'm Leonal Quarts. I am here with you today because I wanted to make a documentary about the Faunus Revolution that took place 60 years ago. I have asked a few others, but the info was minimal. I was hoping you could give a little more insight?" Leonal asked.
"Why couldn't you just read about it somewhere else?" Firestick asked, confused as to why his time was being wasted on dumb and easily answerable questions.
"Most of the documentation has been destroyed or removed since then. I was even lucky to have people willing to answer my questions. Of course, one of them mentioned something about you, and I thought about asking for more info about you seeing as you came up a lot afterward." Leonal answered.
"Fine, you want to know a little 'bout what it was like back then? I'll bite. But no more questions 'till I'm done, got it?"
"Yes."
"Okay, where to start, where to start? The beginning I suppose." Firestick was then heard taking a deep breath and releasing a long sigh after.
"I'm not getting into the nitty-gritty, but when it happened, it took over in a month. How it all started? With the most important man in all of Remnant being offed in front of the entire world. Throat slit right on camera. Shock and panic started quickly and escalated into government shutdown within the week." Firestick then chuckled, "If you were a major criminal then, it was a goldmine! Shit could get done without the hassle of cops. But then, Faunus started attacking humans viciously and without any remorse. What was that group called? White Claw? Tooth?"
"White Fang?" Leonal answered.
"Bingo. They were starting what was called the Faunus Revolution, led by this bull faunus. Within the next week, Remnant was theirs. And the final few days, humans were enslaved." Firestick's voice lost emotion and he sat back in his chair. Pulling his hand up, it looked like he was rubbing his temples.
"What wrong?" Leonal asked.
"Didn't I tell you no questions until I'm finished?" Firestick said with a little annoyance.
"Sorry."
"Anyways, those were dark days. People getting killed without care, humans were slaves in the worst of conditions, and all I could do was watch. Poor bastards." Firestick then sighed again.
"If your wondering, and I know you are, I wasn't a slave. I was a slave trader. I sold, bought, and sold slaves again all because I had relations prior to the time. They let me and very few others off the hook as repayment for helping them take over Remnant. One of them was Cinder and her loonies, Emerald and Mercury. What happened to them I wonder?"
"Actually, I talked with Emerald a few days ago. And she is doing pretty well with herself." Leonal told.
"Huh, I knew she didn't have the guts. But that's a story for another time. Continuing this forsaken shitshow, in the middle of it all, I was honestly happy about one of the first two slaves I sold. And that's saying somethin'. She was a tall blonde chick and was a tough one too. She had a sister that was a 'half-blood' as we called them back then. Now it's more of a nice status to have, but it was a disgrace to be entitled even before the Faunus Revolution."
Firestick paused for a moment, letting the memory sink in before continuing again. "I'm telling you, they changed the world to what it is today. Sure, it may have been just those two at first, but considering who the blonde ended up with, It worked out in her favor. Who knows, if I didn't bring them to the auction, we probably would still be living like back then."
Firestick paused again. This time for a little longer, causing Leonal to question what he was thinking about.
"Sold to Colten Grey!" The auctioneer shouted, letting everyone in the old warehouse know who won that round.
A man, or faunus rather, dressed in standard White Fang attire which consisted of a sleeveless white jacket, black t-shirt, and black pants with metal shin-guards. He had a distinguishing pair of long, light brown ears and a bushy tail that had the same light brown color led a man dressed in nothing but tatters on off of a stage the sitting crowd paid attention to. The place was dimly lit and as such, the perfect place for faunus to host such activities.
"Next up! We have two exotic countryside slaves." The auctioneer said into the mic.
Two more standard thugs walked out with the two girls in front of them, hands behind their backs bound with rope. They both looked gone with the wind and had no fight in their eyes. Just sadness and silence. The girls were dressed in almost the same tattered clothing as the man but were more mended and up kept.
"Now, for them, this is going to be a little different. You can either get one for the normal rate or, pay double for the package deal."
This caused a few murmurs and hard glares from the crowd.
"Let's begin, shall we? Together, they will both go for 500. The blonde is worth 400 on her own, and the half-blood is worth 300. The blonde has strong working capabilities and can do anything her owner tells her." He said, putting emphasis on anything. "While the half-blood is a fast and extremely obedient. But has the tendency to cause self-harm."
A few more whispers and stares were given and passed before the auctioneer spoke again.
"You may place your bids now."
People then started to write on their signs. After a couple of seconds, the announcer called out.
"If you all have your bids in, now for the fun! Remember, 500 together, 400 for the blonde, and 300 for the half-blood. Oh, and forgot to mention, if someone places a bid higher than the separate bid, the separate bid would be canceled out. Now, raise 'em!"
With that, people in the crowd began to raise their signs. "Oh, 600 together. Can we get anything higher?"
A woman in the crowd raised her sign, "700 for the half-blood!"
Then a man raised his sign. "800 for the blonde. Can any of you beat it?"
A few hands started to go up, but went down instantly and began to work on their signs.
Then a man in the front raised his. "Holy smokes! 1000 lien for the blonde! Big bid. Challengers?"
The man who bid had started to smile smugly as no one challenged that, and with a few seconds passing of silence the auctioneer was going to shout 'sold!' But someone in the back cut him off, and everyone who saw what was on the sign gasped at how big the bid was compared to the rest.
The auctioneer's mouth was agape, but then he remembered that he had a job to do. "5000 lien for both of them, going once. Going twice!"
He waited a few seconds before shouting the final word. "Sold to the rich person in the shady duds!"
The mystery bidder walked towards the nearby doors and walked out into the open night air. The two guards holding the girls followed off of the stage. Getting outside, the guards saw the mystery bidder. They were dressed in a long cloak that covered their figure from head to toe, around their neck was a collar with a box attached to it and their face was covered by a blank white mask with the eyes covered by a black mesh insulant. From the top of the hood, two points resided, and from the bottom of the cloak, the tip of a black tail could be seen and then some. They were standing next to an SUV with one of the doors open. After cutting the ropes that restrained the girls' hands, the guards then went back inside the building.
"Well?" The mystery person said in a distorted voice, most likely due to the box around her neck.
The two were still silent. Holding their hands in front of them in a polite manner and staring down at their own feet.
"Do you have names?" The person asked.
"Yes...Sir?" The blonde responded, looking quizzically.
"Mistress."
"Sorry mistress, my name is Yang." The taller one said.
"My name is Ruby." The shorter one told.
"Yang and Ruby huh? Very well then. Get in." Mistress then proceeded to open a door and get in herself. Ruby and Yang shared a glance before following suit.
After buckling in, Mistress drove out of the lot and started to head in a direction unknown to the two souls already fast asleep, leaning on each other for support.
Unbeknownst, under the mask of Mistress, she wore a smile when she saw the two in the back.
"And that wasn't the last I've seen of them either." Firestick finished.
Leonal sat in silence, in hopes he would continue."I'm done now." Firestick said with a roll of his eyes.
"Oh, okay. So there were slave bidding meets?" Leonal asked.
"Oh yeah, everywhere. I didn't understand why they were held in such places. Probably to intimidate the slaves or to just be secretive about it, but then that wouldn't make sense seeing as it was legal at the time."
"So you said that that wasn't the last time you saw the two girls, Yang and Ruby. care to elaborate?"
"Well-" Firestick started but was cut off by the sound of a beeping coming from the recorder.
"A crap, the battery is dying." Leonal sighed, "Do you think we could continue this tomorrow?" He asked.
"Oh most definitely. It was fun telling my story, especially when most of the sides and opinions were silent and oppressed by the revolution. Anyways," Firestick then stood up. "It was fun and I'll see you tomorrow." He then turned and walked out of the room leaving Leonal to think about the info he just got or lack thereof.
'He is definitely holding out on purpose.' He thought.
"Roman Torchwick, what are you hiding?" He said to himself.
Chuckling, he just stood, turned the recorder, light, and camera off, and walked out of the room. Leaving it dark.
