Brandy and Parchment

He let the whisper of his fingertips carry across the parchment. It was a gently rough sound he relished. A sound so silent it allowed him to think, to go back into memories he barely remembered. The sound was inspiration of some sorts. Inspiration as pure to the mind as to the soul.

He snorted. As if he needed more inspiration. He placed the scroll of parchment on his lap and picked up his glass of Brandy. He let his fingers caress the brim of the glass and brought it under his nose to take in the fragrance. This fragrance was not inspiration though, this was different. The smell of Brandy represented relaxation, calmness. He took a sip of the Brandy.

So this is what he had for the night; no grading papers of dunderheads that had no clue as to the senseless sentences they scribbled at the last minute, no planning lessons, that was long done, but this.

He had a parchment for gentle inspiration, to inspire his soul to propose itself, and Brandy, the Brandy to assure the nature of the matter, the Brandy that was calming the winding nerves in his stomach. It was official, he thought darkly-amused, he was going soft.

With one last sip from his glass he rolled up the parchment and placed it deep within the confines of his black robes and stood. Tonight Severus Snape would propose to the women he loved with a breath of Brandy, and a pocket of parchment.

A/N First ...anything I've ever made public. I normally write random things but never post them. This is just a little drabble at midnight after reading a wonderful fic. It's a promise of what is to come. (I do realize its a bit strange if not delusional) So please review and tell me if I should just quit writing forever ;) HG/SS for those who hadn't figured it out yet...tsk tsk...I mean who else would I be writing about!?...jk...I gave no clue whatsoever.

I have noticed that a few of you are interested in the story or my writing actually, I shall therefore please you by continuing this piece, and changing it a bit to fit my twisted story-line. Please bear with me!!! And don't forget to REVIEW..to make me a better writer...;D
