Christmas Boxes and Yuletide Kisses

Ginger put the final piece of tape on the box she had just wrapped with Santa-covered paper. She had the latest game for the X-box, called Alienator, as it was supposed to be really good.

If you were into that kind of thing.

Ginger, personally, didn't see what the deal with those games was.

But that was all right. It was for Darren. Not her.

"Ginger," her mother called from the living room, "a package came for you."

"Okay, mom." She labeled Darren's present and went to see what the package was all about.

Mom had in her hands a brown wrapped box about the size of a hardback book. "What's this, mom?"

"I don't know, Ging. I was hoping that you would tell me."

Reading the return address, she learned that it was from Darren. Eagerly she ripped open the wrapping. And found….

"Oh man, Darren got me a better gift than the one I got for him." Inside were a Christmas card and one hundred and one Holiday-themed Hershey's kisses. Surely a romantic gesture, however misguided it was.

"Don't worry, honey," mom said, wrapping her arm around Ginger, "Christmas isn't until tomorrow. I'm sure that you'll come up with something. You always do."

The End
