Fill free to comment however you want! I'd LOVE some constructive criticism, considering the fact that I really new with this.

I do NOT own Maximum Ride or any of its characters! If I did, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to afford a less crappy computer. J

Prologue

MPOV

I ran through the forest, looking for a place to take off. With every step I took, I could sense the Erasers gaining on me. I had to get out of this place. I had to escape. I searched my surroundings, looking for a place to escape. There! Sweat dripping down my brow, I raced forward, toward the circle of light only a few feet ahead of me. See, here's my reasoning: Where there is sun-light, there is open sky, and where there is an open sky, there is FREEDOM, baby! I smiled smugly as I ran faster and faster, my genetically enhanced heart beating insanely. Then, I reached the spot of sun and unfurled my wings.

Flapping with every muscle in my wings, I pushed upward, the tips of my feathers just grazing the leaves around me. And then, with one last pump, I broke through the canopy, soaring higher and higher until the trees were far below. I quickly did a 360, searching everywhere for any possible threat. Surprisingly, there were no Erasers in sight.

However, I did see something-or someone- else. A dark figure quickly flew out of the forest below me. My heart sped up as I caught sight of the figures familiar shaggy black hair and dark eyes. Fang! For a moment I was stunned. Despite everything, I half of me wanted to run to him, to embrace him and never let him go. The other half, wanted to punch him in the gut for leaving me.

Before I could call out to him, or beat the crap out of him, another rush of movement caught my eye. A swarm of Erasers were perched on the treetops directly below Fang- With all of their guns pointing at him. "Fang! Look out!" I yelled, trying to warn him. But it was as if I didn't exist. He didn't move. He just stayed there, slowly surveying the area as if looking for something. And you wanna know the creepy part? His eyes past right over me, as if I wasn't even there. Then, before I had time to ponder what this meant, shots rang out into the night, and I watched, unable to move, as the only person I've ever loved, fell to his death.

A/N:OH NO! Fang died!

Just kidding! I wouldn't kill Fang…O_o or would I?
