He was standing in the middle of a crossroads. Waiting.
Waiting for what?
He didn't know.
He wanted to leave, but he didn't know which way to go.
Four options. Four roads to chose from.
Feeling like a child, he closed his eyes and started to spin. Letting fate decide which way he was meant to go. As he came to a stop he opened his eyes.
There she was.
The thing he had been waiting for.
He studied her face. Her hazel eyes that matched his own. Her dark hair that fell to the middle of her back.
Familiar. So Familiar.
"Who are you?" he asked, although he felt he should know.
"I am the third"
Sam Winchester sat upright in his bed and looked around the dingy motel room. It took him a moment to remember where he was.
Some little no name town just outside of Pittsburgh.
He and Dean had finished their hunt the night before, just your run of the mill haunting.
Research, fight with Dean, find the remains, fight with Dean, salt and burn the bones, have a beer with Dean.
Should have taken no more then 24 hours.
But as usual, Sam forgot to add sex into that equation and as usual Dean went home with some chick he met at the bar.
Which unfortunately for Sam meant one more night in the Love Shack Motel.
He thought about the dream he had just woken from. That girl.
He had seen her in his dreams every night for the past 2 weeks. It was just about driving him crazy. She looked so familiar.
The early morning sun was just starting to invade the room through too thin curtains. Reluctantly Sam dragged himself from bed and made his way to the bathroom. He had might as well be ready to leave soon. Knowing Dean he would be back before last nights lay had the chance to wake up.
He stepped into the steaming shower and willed his mind to not wander to the dream, and the unanswered questions that had been haunting him for weeks.
"Honey, I'm home!" Dean called from next room.
Sam rolled his eyes. "I'll be out in a minute." He called back.
"Hurry up! I wanna hit the road!"
Dean was lying on his bed taking advantage of the magic fingers when Sam came out of the bathroom.
"Hello princess." Dean mocked "Did you enjoy your night in solitary confinement?"
"I did. Did you enjoy your night in a stripper?"
"Hey! She was a classy chick, and her friend was totally picturing you naked, why didn't you go for it?" Dean asked.
Sam looked at Dean and the truly curious expression on his brother's face. After a few seconds he stepped forward offering his hand to his brother as if he meant to shake it.
"Hi I'm Sam, nice to meet you. I'm the brother you clearly know nothing about."
Dean rolled his eyes.
"Come on Sammy, the world is ending! Live a little!"
"Yeah, and I would prefer to die without any communicable diseases." Sam said
Dean laughed "All right you big prude, lets get the hell out of here. Bobby called me this morning, he thinks he has something for us. I told him we would try and make it there by tonight."
"Dude it's like a 20 hour drive to South Dakota from here."
Dean smiled "Yeah, if you drive the speed limit."
