Tribute for Leah.

Who's going to beat you if you're running alone? I have always run alone. That way, you can never lose.

Sam didn't want me. He did, just not anymore, because he had found 'her'. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him, I really am. But why couldn't it have been me?

But I guess it no longer mattered to me.

"Sorry", that was the first word she ever muttered to me after our first touch, when we walked into each other. Never again will I be able to say that word, not without thinking of her.

Her grey eyes looked up at me and that was it. Her whole life changed forever; no matter what path she had been on we were now on a path together. It was a path that she held me on, and it was just because I had seen her beautiful grey eyes. My eyes had followed the sound and came across perfectly sculpted lips just below the prettiest button nose I had ever seen.

So I guess I'm gay.
It didn't even bother me that my 'brothers' would tease me.
I have her. Nothing will bother me again.

"It's okay, it was my fault. I'm Leah", I told her just wanting to hear her reply, wanting to see her smile, wanting to make her smile. I wanted to hold her, to comfort her, to touch her...

"Milly." she smiled. "So where were you headed anyway?" she asked me, "I'm going to the bonfire. You wanna come? Everyone from the tribe will be there. There's food, company and Billy tells these amazing stories..." I began to ramble. I wanted her so much to say yes. I wanted to make sure she was safe. I wanted her to be with me so that I could protect her. I had never felt this way before.

It felt magical.

"Umm, sure, I mean I was just headed out on a walk and that sounds fun. I mean you're not an axe murderer are you?" she laughed. It made my ears melt, the world's - No – universe's most beautiful sound coming from the most beautiful being.

I laughed with her.

"Nope, I prefer to use my bare hands." I giggled. (Seriously?! Giggling? This is not me.)

She laughed again and then smiled. "You can lead the way then" she told me.

We set off immediately. I couldn't wait to show her off to the guys, Sam especially. He didn't think I'd do it. No one did. But they were wrong, and she was stood right next to me to prove it, where she should be stood for eternity.
