No Surprises There
After an annual Weasley/Potter dinner reunion, the Burrow was unusually quiet. Inside one of the many rooms, Teddy was laying on the bed, enveloping Victoire within his arms. Victoire's hands and head rested upon Teddy's chest, giving her the feeling of eternal protection. Teddy knew they were both awake, thinking. To not only break the silence, but because he genuinely wondered, he questioned, "What're you thinking about?"
Victoire softly smiled and looked up at him. "My wedding… the white gown… my wavy hair flowing down my back…"
Teddy was used to her big fantasies. Under the influence of several butterbeers and the uttermost giddiness of having a beautiful girl in his arms, hinted, "Oh… Am I at this wedding?"
"Of course…"
"Am I the Best Man? Of course, if your husband allow?" Usually the thought of Victoire with someone else would turn his hair scarlet, but both him and her knew at that moment that they were supposed to be together.
Victoire showed off her classic actress smile. "I was thinking the elder boys, James and Albus, should be the best men, actually." She knew where this conversation was going. And she was more excited than nervous. It was not a secret that they had feelings for each other, and it was about time to proclaim it.
Teddy pushed on, "Well I have to help somehow. What would I do?"
Victoire smirked playfully. "I was hoping you'd be the groom, actually."
Teddy smiled to himself. "Yeah?"
Victoire put her arms around his neck. "Mmhmm. Being the drama queen that I am, I think we'd be quite cute together."
Teddy bent his head slightly forwards and kissed her forehead. "Vic. I'd be honored."
With that little promise, the two drifted off to sleep, smiling at each other as if nothing else mattered.
