Chapter One: Why Was I Running?

I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, my heart racing faster then a speed of light. I sat up, put my hand on my forehead and looked around. I quickly got up, I was still in my shorts and my large t-shirt. I sprinted downstairs opened the front door and bursted into tears running against the side of the local river nearby. I sat down near the river and brang my knees to my chest, wrapped my arms around my legs, and put my head on my knees. I sat there breathing heavily. I cried into my knee. Then I said to myself, "Why was I running?" I bit my lip. Then I saw my sister Alex run outside. She's my twin. We're a lot alike, except for the fact that im more tomboy and she's quite girly. Although I am girly. I like to skateboard and she's more, calm. Relaxed. Alex ran to sit next to me. I looked at her and started breathing more heavily. She sat next to me and put her arm around me. She always knew how to calm me down.

"What's wrong?" she said softly.

"I dont know."

"You don't know?! What do you mean you don't know. You can't possibly not know things."

She was right, never in my life have I not knew something this important.

"Nevermind, go back inside, get some rest." She rubbed my back, got up and went back inside. She took a nap.

I went inside after I calmed down. I layed in bed and daydreamed, thinking of my dream -- nightmare. I cried a little then eventually got some rest.

The next morning, I went downstairs rubbing my eyes. I poured some cereal inside a bowl and ate it slowly. Technically I wasn't even eating it! I was just mixing it around with a spoon. My mother came downstairs in her work uniform. "Hunny, you okay?" I ignored her because she didn't know what happend last night, and hopefully, she wouldn't find out. She sighed. "Okay well im going to my business trip in California. I want you guys to be safe, be warm, and don't let the bed bugs eat you." Alex rolled her eyes, "So last year." I nodded in disbelief and put my cereal bowl in the dishwasher. I sat back down. Alex did too. My Mom kissed us both, then she left. Alex started partying, then eventually ran upstairs to get dressed into her bathing suit. I changed into mine, too.

Her's was an, 'itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini'. Mine's just a white bikini. I went outside and layed out my towel. I took a tube and hopped in it then jumped in the pool. Then, the doorbell rang.
