It's Just Because
The bell rings.
"Casey wait up" said Sam while running down the hall.
"Yeah?" said Casey trying to think of an excuse to get away.
"Please just tell me" said Sam anxiously.
"Tell you what?" said Casey
"Don't be that way" said Sam annoyed
"Fine, I just thought that you were just a little…. insufficient." Said Casey guiltily
"I know I can be a little lame sometimes but…. I just wanted to show you the real me and not the me that tries to impress you. We were together so short the first time and you didn't get to see the real me. I just wanted…. I just wanted you to like me. The REAL me not this fake me that's been putting a show on for you the whole time. If that's not good enough for you I guess… neither am I" said Sam disappointedly as he turned and walked away.
Emily walks next to Casey and say's "How could you have done that to him?"
"You heard huh?" Said Casey shamefully
"Me and the whole school. Case you've got to lighten up on the guy. All he did is try to be with you, is that so bad?"
"I guess I'm just afraid of being hurt again." Said Casey
"Don't give me that. He broke up with you because he thought it would be awkward dating his best friend's sister." Said Emily infuriated
"Just tell me this, did you love him."
"Well….Em… He's just…." Said Casey
"A great guy who had feelings for you. So much in fact that he let down his guard. And because of you I don't think he'll do that for anyone else." Said Emily sadly.
