Far From Normal.
They were far from normal. Him, a curse breaker, her a trainee. Him a rugged, muscled red head, her a blonde, petite veela. But they worked. The fit together beautifully, and people who saw them together often whispered about this good looking couple. That isn't to say they had a perfect relationship, or never disagreed.
Both had fiery tempers, and fights between them could stretch for miles in volume. Both were stubborn, and often would take days to apologise, even then, never admitting the other was right. Both were fiercely loyal to those they loved though, and both were compassionate and caring.
They enjoyed strolling around lakes, or along sea shores, and they enjoyed mountain climbing and picnics on cliffs. They enjoyed days spent alone, and days spent with family and friends. They enjoyed holidays in the south of France with her family, and they enjoyed Sunday lunches with his.
They enjoyed a honeymoon in their newly bought cottage, and they made the most of their alone time, despite the danger around them. They hid, and they protected one another, and when it came time, they fought side by side.
After the war, as they grieved for those lost, they sat hand in hand, arm in arm, and they consoled and comforted each other. When the grieving lessened, they took another honeymoon, a real one this time, to the beautiful shores of the Greek Isles, and they soaked up the culture and sun, making sure to take time in their hotel room to rejoice in life.
They had a girl, a beautiful bundle of joy, and then they had another, and then, a son to complete the family they spent so long leading up to and building. The things they enjoyed changed as the family did. They enjoyed picnics in the sand, watching the children run and scream and play in the water. They enjoyed walks to the park, and days spent at The Burrow.
The two of them took the time to have a night off from being mum and dad occasionally, to be the beautiful couple so many commented on years before, to have time to be just them, to be the couple in love.
The kids grew up all too fast, and it was Hogwarts time, and suddenly the days were empty again. They filled them with all the things they had enjoyed in their lives together. They spent more time in bed, and they took off on holiday. They would have meals in front of the fire, and make love on the rug, the way they did when they were young, and just learning each others bodies.
They grew old, and they gardened, and cooked, and looked after the grandchildren when they came along. They spent nights in the added on conservatory, cuddling as they watched the stars. He would point out the same constellations, and she would gasp the same way each time, dazzled by not only the beauty in the sky, but at the beauty of their love, as endless as the stars the looked upon.
They stayed, forever in love. Their lives, entwined together, never to be separated. They died, within a day of one another, and they were buried together outside the cottage they had lived in for most of their lives. They died as they lived, and they lived as they died. Far from normal, but very much in love.
