DISCLAIMER: I OWN NOTHING

Dean was almost sure he'd just cleaned the kitchen. In fact, he was entirely sure he had. But now... Now it was a mess. Everything was covered in flour and sugar. Walls, counters, floor-you name it, it was covered. There were apples all over the floor and counters, both whole and sliced, peeled and not.

Sam shook his head and patted Dean on the shoulder before escaping to his room. Dean, however, stood in the doorway, looking around in utter disbelief before starting to clean up. He realized he was standing in what appeared to be an explosion of pie ingredients.

"A pie? What the-" A noise from the doorway cut off his sentence. He looked up to find Cas, covered in flour, with an adorably cute look of absolute guilt.

"I- I made you a pie, Dean." Cas pointed to a slightly less covered counter, upon which a pie sat. Dean appreciated the gesture but still... His kitchen! He sighed.

"Dammit Cas." Cas tilted his head a little.

"But..." He sounded confused. "I thought you liked pie?" Dean shook his head slightly.

"I do, but did you have to make such a big mess?" Cas looked down and held out a broom.

"I was gonna clean..." Dean sighed again. He took the broom and started sweeping. Cas left and came back with another broom and started sweeping. It took them a good twenty minutes to sweep, and another twenty to wipe off the counters and walls.

"I'm sorry Dean. I thought I would make a pie to thank you. But I guess I'm not good at it..." Dean shook his head.

"Yeah, I guess not." He started to pick up pieces of apple and put the whole ones away. Cas tossed him one, trying to be helpful. Dean caught it easily and put it away. Cas chuckled and Dean turned to look at him.

"What?" If Cas thought this whole thing was funny...

"Nothing. It's just... I remember there was a time humans tossed apples at those they wished to marry." Dean felt his face heat up a little.

"Oh." Cas nodded and kept picking apples up. Dean found himself unable to function like a normal human being.

"Are you alright, Dean?" Dean blinked out of his stupor.

"Yeah I'm fine." He kept cleaning.

After a few minutes more of cleaning, they were finished. Dean looked over at Cas, who had flour on his nose. He moved over to Cas and wiped it off. Cas put his hand up to his face.

"Thank you." He said. Dean nodded and murmured a 'no problem'. He started to move away and was stopped by Cas, who grabbed his hand.

"Would you like a slice of pie, Dean?" He asked. Dean nodded and got a few plates out while he let Cas cut the pie. While he looked for forks, he heard Cas yelp, and he turned to see Cas sucking on his finger. Dean left the plates on the counter and quickly moved over to him. He moved Cas's finger out of his mouth of put a band-aid over the small cut on his finger and finished cutting the pie himself.

Dean had to admit, although Cas had made the biggest mess he'd ever seen, the pie was delicious. Cas responsibly ate a slice, and Dean ate three, secretly extremely glad that Cas had made a pie only for him.

As soon as Dean finished washing the last few dishes, he yawned and turned to Cas.

"Well I'm calling it a night. Night, Cas." Cas nodded. Dean started to leave the room.

"Good night, Dean. I love you."

"Love you too." Dean sleepily replied. It wasn't until he was in his bed that he noticed what he'd said.

Oh well. He thought. At least I meant it.
