The crackling of the fire helped calm Link. After a hard day of finding his way through the confusing water temple, it was a relief to get a break. Link stared at the fire, watching the bright yellow flames flicker. He also gazes at the blue parts of the flames near the wood. Sometimes Link would even see a tint of orange in the flames. The flames would rise high at times. With the rise of the flames came more heat.
Link roasted his dinner above the fire. Fresh fish caught from Lake Hylia. As Link ate the fish, he savored the taste. He also had some of his Lon Lon milk to soothe his nerves.
He gazes into the flames, but his mind was going through all of his adventures up to this point. One fond memory came to mind. When he freed Epona from Ingo. After he rescued her, they both ran free across Hyrule field, the wind running through her mane and his hair. He smiles fondly at the memory.
By this point the fire had died down to a red glow from the remnants of the firewood. He decided to call it a night, knowing the fire wasn't going to spread because of the rock blockade, he let the soft burning of the fire alone as he leans back against Epona... slowly drifting off to sleep with the soft crackle of the dying fire...
