Evergreen and Elfman's lives were crazy ones filled with love, sacrifice, and adventure, but the real first step towards their exciting lives together started the day they decided to get married.
The day the fairy mage and Take Over mage were married was an interesting and hectic day. Lisanna and Mirajane (especially Mira) cried in happiness for their brother, even if he would no longer be living under the same roof as them. Evergreen had walked down the aisle with a rare smile gracing her features as she looked at her soon-to-be husband. She looked so beautiful in his eyes as she approached him holding the crook of Fried and Bixlow's arms. Elfman looked a bit out of place in a suit, resulting in him dubbing it as "unmanly", but it was worth it for Ever to have her day. The ceremony went on smoothly with a few comments here and there from their fellow guild mates, mainly Bixlow or Natsu.
The reception was held in the guildhall. Makarov knew his children well, and he would rather not destroy any nice places with their normal antics. Everyone knew it would come out sooner or later. When the fights began to ensue, some people wanted to slip away as to not get caught in the destruction. However they waited it out, so they could bid farewell to the new couple when they made their way to their honeymoon.
When the bride and groom decided to finally leave, everyone gathered at the front of the guild hall. The guild said their goodbyes to the happy couple, and Elfman and Evergreen left to make a stop at their home. They had a train to catch, leading to a special place in their hearts.
Time went by, and they soon returned from their honeymoon. Not even half a year had passed after their wedding, and Evergreen was pregnant. It came as a shock to the guild even though Evergreen and Elfman had already been married for half of a year.
Evergreen's due date rolled around, and she fell into labor. As she was carried to the infirmary in the back of the guild, Elfman held her hand and tried to sooth her whimpers and, every so often, screams. Then, after a few hours of excruciating pain for Evergreen and slight pain for Elfman, from Evergreen's screams and her grip on his hand, Megan Ariella Strauss was born, brown eyes bright and innocent and a small patch of white hair atop her head.
Megan began to grow up, and Elfman was the stereotypical protective father. Megan played with the other children, but when she played with one of the boys, Elfman constantly watched the boy. He didn't want anyone to poison his innocent little fairy.
When Megan was about 3 and a half, Evergreen became pregnant yet again. Elfman rejoiced after discovering that their second child was a boy but was quick to reassure Megan that he still loved her even if she was a girl. Once their son was born, Ever told her husband that she would never have another child. Their son was named Dansei Ash Strauss but was given the nickname, Dan. His light blue eyes shined with joy and contrasted with his fluff of brown hair.
When Megan was able to start learning magic, she took an interest in her father's Take Over magic but tended to fall into monstrous forms that better suited her mother such as fairy and gorgon forms. However, Dan went a different path once he was old enough to learn. He asked his Uncle Gray to teach him Ice Make but began to struggle when his mother's Stone Eyes became an issue.
Megan and Dan both went through training, learning how to use their magic from whomever was able to teach them. The siblings quickly became official Fairy Tail mages at seperate times and took on jobs like the rest of their generation.
Megan continued to grow into a lovely young woman, showing most people her arrogant side full of attitude, making it impossible not to see her as Evergreen's daughter. Having been friends with other kids her age, she grew to like one in particular more than the others. Jason Dreyar. Elfman made sure to keep a close eye on the kid, especially since he was Laxus and Cana's son.
Dan was also cold to his peers (no pun intended) except for a few of his friends. He also had his eyes set on one other of his generation in particular, and that was Tori Fernandes. His sister constantly teased him about how he would have to face Erza's wrath if he were ever brave enough to ask the purplette to be his girlfriend.
When Megan and Jason were old enough and got married, Elfman cried like a baby. Megan looked so much like her mother had on her wedding day. She still only one prominent feature of her father's. Her pure white locks.
Megan and Jason moved in together, but Megan still visited her parents as much as she possibly could. They started their own family and bore grandchildren for their parents. It brought happiness to the guild and, more importantly, the new children's grandparents.
Years after Megan and Jason were wed, Tori beat Dan to the punch and proposed to him, just as her mother had to her father. Dan was flustered and accepted, and ended up proposing to her the next day just so that he could say he had. It was Ever's turn to cry because her baby boy was getting married, and Elfman was losing his "manly" son.
Dan and Tori moved to the far edges of Magnolia to live since they could not find a cheap home close to the guild but often came to see their parents. When they finally had children, they would have Elfman and Ever babysit about half of the time if Erza and Jellal were too busy with Crime Sorciere or were out on a job of their own.
Elfman and Evergreen grew old together, having their grandchildren come over every so often to cheer them up or spend time with them. Surprisingly, Evergreen was the first of the two to die. Thankfully for the family, it was just of natural causes. Elfman left not too long afterwards of a heart attack. (Hey, he may be an old man, but he still tried to join the fights, much to his children's embarassment.)
Their story may not have had the best start with their fight during the Battle of Fairy Tail and their partnership for the S-Class exams on Tenrou, but they did love each other. They proved their love through hate, and they eventually grew old together. Their love will be alive, forever and always.
