A/N A short story about the one and only sorting hat! I don't own HP OKAY?! xD
A most difficult sorting - Biography of the sorting hat by meee!
After the war, the sorting hat tried to put more thought into it's decisions.
Not all purebloods in Slytherin, not all Weasleys in Gryffindor.
The sorting hat started to keep a house diary.
How can a hat write? Well it stole Rita Skeeter's quick quotes quill (She cried for a week)! Anyway, the sorting hat wrote down the person's name, the house, and a little bit about the person.
The sorting hat started putting some people who might turn evil into Hufflepuff, for fun and to make sure they didn't turn too bad... Well how could a Hufflepuff turn bad?
There were not as many Slytherins anymore, so the sorting hat had to do something about that. It added a new verse to the song! 'You might belong in Slytherin an amazingly awesome house' but Mcgonagall was angry, as she wanted to keep at least some of the old traditions.

Who was the most difficult to sort?
Albus Dumbledore, for sure as he was a great Slytherin, but I decided on Gryffindor as he had a good headmaster spirit and I didn't want him to turn bad.
Which house is your favorite?
I like all the houses equally! People make up house stereotypes, but not all Slytherins are evil, not all Gryffindors are good and ot all Hufflepuffs are dumb.
Which house do you think you would be in?
That has been on my mind for awhile... I think I would be in Ravenclaw!
Who do you regret sorting?
Voldemort would've made a great Hufflepuff!
Who is the most famous person you've sorted?
Harry Potter and Voldemort (Tom Riddle)! I have sorted lots of people who grew up famous.
Who is the most annoying person you sorted?
I don't say stuff like that! But Gilderoy Lockhart was annoying (He won't remember).
What was Umbridge like?
She painted me pink and sorted all her cats, it was horrible!
What about Snape?
He was alright, I guess, but no Dumbledore!
Who was the last person you sorted?
It was a boy named Matthew Smith into Ravenclaw.
Do you like Slytherin?
I love Slytherin! It is amazing, like all the houses!

The sorting hat was made in 1023 by a wizard named Callius Cackle, who made it with a spell that no-one knew, or will ever know, which made objects talk. He gave it to the founders of Hogwarts when he found out they were building a school. The sorting hat is still sorting til this day!
