He stepped into the boundaries of Falkreath. Everyone stared at him. He no doubt was wearing his favored choice of armor: Steel Plate. Nobody understood why he decided to come into town that day. He walked past the guards, tracking his boots through the mud along the way. He walked up the stairs to the blacksmith, Lod. As he looked at Lod, he could something had happened. Before he could say a word, Lod spoke up. "You didn't happen to see a dog, did you?" He said. The Dragonborn looked at him. "No, I didn't, why?" He said. "My dog ran away a while ago. I just hope those bastards who live in the woods didn't make him their meal." "If I give you some meat, would you be willing to find him for me?" "I could possibly be convinced to get him for you" The Dragonborn said with a persuading look in his eyes. "Hmmm…smart man. Here's some meat and some gold. I'll give you the rest when I have my dog." He said. "Ok then, I'll go." He said. Then he was off. Every step he took he fondled the coins like they were his only food. He walked just out of the border and set down the meat. He waited only a while before a dog came trampling out of the trees. He lapped up the meat, looked up at the Dragonborn, and said "You look just like the kinda guy I've been looking for!" the dog said. "Did you just talk?" said the Dragonborn. "Yeah I sure did! Look, my name is Barbus, and my master and I had a bit of a falling out. But if you come with me to Haemar's Shame, then I'll go back to my master!" The Dragonborn reluctantly decided to go with him.
He was nervous on the trip to Haemar's Shame. He knew that it was filled with vampires, and he was one wrong move away from being a vampire buffet. But he kept his cool, he knew that there was going to be gold in the end, and that's all that really mattered to him. As they approached Haemar's Shame, the temperature had dropped immensely. "Ooh, can you feel that?" Barbus said, "I'm getting chills down my spine just looking at this place!" "I know," The Dragonborn said, "Can we please get inside though?" "Sure." So they went inside.
When they went inside, they instantly felt nauseated. There was the strong smell of meat and blood, and the floor was covered in it. They walked past the mess and decided to head up the stairs. There, they saw a couple of vampires dining on human flesh. The Dragonborn gagged at the sight of it. They decided to sneak past, which was practically impossible considering the absurd number of limbs on the ground. The Dragonborn then, at that moment, stepped on a disembodied arm. One of the vampires stood up, sniffed, looked around…and sat back down. They both sighed with relief. Right at that moment, though, they turned around to see a vampire right in their faces. She hissed at them, and then bit at the air. They both jumped up and started running. After a while of running, The Dragonborn grew tired. So he sat down and rested a while. When he awoke, Barbus was gone. He stood up, and looked around frantically. "Damn." He thought. "There goes my pay" He started to walk off when he heard howling in the distance. He ran toward the noise, only to find that there was nothing but wolves. He turned around, and saw a vampire right in his face. Before he could turn around and run, she bit down on his throat causing him to scream with pain. She let go and savored the taste of his blood. She went back for another bite only to be stopped by Barbus. He jumped up and bit her face. She then hissed and ran away. Barbus looked at him. He then slowly walked back to the boundaries of Falkreath, hoping someone would find him soon.
