This story is pretty confusing. To really understand it, you have to read A Wind In the Door, by Madeleine L'engle. This story was made in ten minutes because the most recent manga chapters reminded me scarily of a certain scene from the book.

Disclaimer: I own neither Inuyasha nor AWINTD.

NAMED

by Ichigo2491

"Kagome is slipping away from me!" the boy with the dog ears screamed. "I'm losing her!"

"You must name her," kythes the voice of the old priestess in his ear. "The jewel is the un-namer. Its business is destroying life. Yours is to create it."

"But how do I do that?" Inuyasha kythes back, fumbling in the darkness. "How do I name her?"

"You love her," says the old priestess, his Teacher. "That is all you have to do."

"But how can I find her?" his frantic kything demands. "There's only darkness! We're in the middle of a void!"

"Fill the void," Kaede kythes firmly. "Fill the nothingness with the one thing you have that it has not: love."

I already love her. Maybe I'm not as good at that as I should be. Maybe I don't say enough; don't do enough. But the feelings are there, more present than any fear, or anger, or hatred.

Kagome is my world, my galaxy.

Without her, I will die.

"I love you, Kagome!" he roared. Not with his physical body – he doesn't seem to have a body here - but with Himself, the very essence of who he is. His Being.

I love you Kagome!

I need you.

I name you: you are Kagome, and you are loved!

You ARE.

Now BE.

And, with a rush of light and sound, she IS.
