The Rejection of Smeagol
Disclaimer: Tolkien and New Line Cinema own Lord of the rings I don't.
It was a warm spring day and the sun is shinning brightly in the sky. Several stoor hobbits were having a picnic in the fields. They had a blanket spread out on the grass and an open picnic basket on top. Everybody was talking and laughing with each other. Smeagol approached them.
"Hello," he said to them cheerfully.
They ignored him.
"Can I join your picnic?" he asked hoping they will say yes.
"Not after the cruel prank you pulled on your uncle yesterday, " aunt Tulip said. "Now go away!"
"I don't need you!" Smeagol yelled. "There are plenty of other hobbits who would enjoy my company."
Smeagol came upon another group of hobbits three of his cousins. They were standing under a tree.
"Hi guys. The weather is beautiful today isn't it?"
"Hmmph." they said.
"Why are you giving me a cold shoulder?" he asked them.
"Why did you play that awful trick on my brother yesterday?" one of them asked.
"Go away!" said another. "You are not wanted here."
Smeagol walked away sadly.
"Maybe the next hobbit will enjoy my company."
He came upon a girl hobbit the one he had a crush on for quite some time.
"Maybe she'll like me he thought. I hope so."
He walked up to her.
"Hi Flora, would you like to take a walk with me?"
"When you return my mother's things to her," she said angrilly. She walked away from him.
Smeagol was disappointed.
All day long Smeagol continued to approach other hobbits and all day long they rejected him. He knew he deserved to be rejected by them after the stunts he had pulled and the stuff he had stolen, but he was lonely for company.
2 years have gone by and the other stoor hobbits had had enough of Smeagol's mischievousness. They decided to do something about it.
Several of them approached the grandmother.
"Grandmother, you got to do something about Gollum," said Smeagol's aunt Tulip, "he has caused nothing but trouble for the past two years."
"Gollum stole my things," said one of his cousins.
"He turns invisible alot. He once listened to my sister's secrets and told everybody," said another hobbit.
"He stole our jewelry," uncle Colby said.
"We're getting tired of Gollum," another uncle said.
"You know something? So am I," the grandmother said. "Ever since he returned from his fishing trip he has causing nothing but trouble. I've had enough with his turning invisible and pulling pranks on everybody. Can one of you get Smeagol for me?"
Several minutes later Smeagol was brought before the grandmother. He had his head down because he knew he was in trouble.
"Look at me," the grandmother said.
Smeagol looked up at the grandmother and saw anger in her eyes.
"For the past two years you have caused nothing but trouble for us. You turned your self-invisible and listened in on secrets. You have stolen many things; you have played cruel pranks on many of your fellow hobbits especially members of your own family. Do you see why they have been ignoring you? We even tried reasoning with you occasionally, but even that didn't work. I have no choice but to ban you from my simile and our community. You will take with you only the clothes on your back, and as soon as we are gone, we will go through your belongings and return the stuff you have stolen to their rightful owners."
Smeagol started to cry. "Please grandmother don't do this to me. I don't want to leave."
"You should have thought about this before you did those awful things," the grandmother said coldly. "Two years ago you told us that Deagol ran away. Now I can see why."
Smeagol left the community and started walking toward the river. He was very sad. He felt so lonely and rejected.
"Nobody loves me," he thought sadly.
Then he took the gold ring out his pocket and held it in his hand and looked at it wickedly.
It's just you and me my precioussss.
The End
