I don't own Ghost Hunt or any of its characters.
This is a LinxMai pairing.
The moment he took a sip of his tea he felt the flash of a spell settling on him. Where did that come from just now? Confused he stared at the teacup in his hands. Now that he concentrated, he could feel the lingering presence of magic on it. Someone had put a spell on his tea. He frowned. The one who made his tea was obviously Mai – but why would she want to put a spell on him? And how did she even do it? As far as he knew she didn't have any knowledge about magic.
Let's see... He concentrated on the spell around him. Whoever made this knew what he was doing, but it's not a high level spell so I should be able to break it easily. But what exactly is its purpose? He realized the answer a moment later when the door to his office opened and Mai stepped in. The moment he saw her, he felt a wave of desire slam into him. When he realized what he was doing, he was already halfway across the room. He closed his eyes and struggled for a few seconds before he managed to regain control of his senses. He opened his eyes again and glared at Mai. "Care to explain?" A look of guilt and panic flashed across her face and she blushed deeply. She managed to stammer "I'm s-sorry!" before she turned around to flee his office. Lin caught her wrist when she reached the door and whirled her around, trapping her between the door and him. Mai stared up at him like a deer caught in the headlights.
"Where do you think you're going?" He smirked down on her. I might as well have some fun with this. "Why go through the trouble of casting a spell if you're not staying around to enjoy the effects?"
With that he allowed his control to slip and gave in to the spell. He pressed himself closer to her body and his lips to hers. Her lips were soft, just like he had imagined in his dreams. And just like in his dreams it only took a moment for her to melt into his touch and respond to his kiss. He broke the kiss for a moment to breathe and nip at her throat. The way she moaned softly when he nipped a little harder and tugged at his hair to bring him back into a searing kiss was even better than his dreams.
For one moment he wanted nothing more than to give in to the spell, to ravish her completely, take her against door, and make sure that the only name she remembered would be his.
But when he pressed even closer to her and let his hands wander under her shirt, Mai suddenly froze. "Lin, I... I..." He silenced her with a short kiss and leaned in to whisper into her ear: "Since you apparently decided to take up spell casting, allow me to teach you a few rules about that. Rule one: Only cast a spell once you are sure you can handle all eventual outcomes and consequences."
He removed his hand from under her shirt and lightly traced his way up, enjoying the way she shivered lightly, before he leaned back in to whisper again.
"Rule two: Be precise in formulating what you want and in which way it should be achieved. In other words: don't use lust spells when you're looking for romance."
He could feel her relaxing a little and let his hand wander further upwards, burying it in the hair at her neck. He gently tugged her head back to gain better access to her throat. He allowed himself to leave one last
"Rule three: Know your place! A novice casting spells on a master is asking for trouble." With that he tore through the fabric of the spell and broke it. He ordered his shiki to get rid of the remaining magic and stepped away from Mai.
"And rule four: Don't waste magic on something you can attain just by asking for it"
