The Scorpion and the Fox

Derek and Cameron broke in to a secret military factory to destroy the archives storing information on AI computer systems. They were just about ready to walk down a long hallway that lead to the vault. Cameron's arm shot out and stopped their progress. Derek asked "What the fuck is up with you"?
"There is a low level metal detector in the floor if I step on the floor I'll set off the thermite charges" Cameron said flatly. Now Derek can trust Cameron about as far as he can throw her asked "How do we get over this problem"?
"You can carry me on your back, the metal detectors will not sense me if I'm on your back. Plus you need me to force the vault door open" Cameron said matter of fact like.
Derek spoke "No! You are not doing that, once you're on my back you'll kill me"
"Why would I do that if I kill you we'll both die" Cameron said.
So Derak thought this over for a minute or so and grumbled "Get on".
So Cameron got on Derak's back and he started walking down the hall. About half way down the hall Cameron pulled out a knife and stabbed Derek in the chest. As Derek lost strength and started to faulter, He looked at Cameron with pain and anger and asked "Why? Why did you do that? Now we'll both die".
Cameron gave him a cold look and said "I can't help it, it's just in my nature".
As they fell to the floor the explosives went off killing both of them.
