Author's Note: I wrote this awhile ago back in happy Eclare times :( I refuse to belief they are over! Anywho...review if you wanna, it bugs me when people beg for reviews. So if you feel the urge to comment on my story then by all means do, but if not, that's cool to. :)

Maybe Chivalry Isn't Dead

"Well? What do you think?"

Clare and Eli were sitting at the picnic tables in the park editing papers for English class. The assignment was to pick an element found in old English literature and write about it.

"Well, it's interesting that's for sure. Clare do you really believe this?"

"Yes." She answered confused. "I wouldn't have written it if I didn't. I really do believe that chivalry is dead Eli. And not to sound smug but I think my argument is original and well thought out." Clare smiled up at Eli.

Her paper was about the Feminist Movement causing the end of chivalry. She argued that women being more independent and wanting to do things on their own was the reason men stopped opening doors and acting like gentlemen.

"Well I disagree Clare, but I'll admit it is a pretty nice piece."

"Do you think Ms. Dawes will like it?" She seemed skeptical.

"Are you kidding? Clare, she's always loved your writing but this one is really good, and I'm not just saying that because you're my girlfriend." He flashed her his signature smirk. "Still say you're wrong though."

Clare smiled and looked down as a small blush rose to her cheeks. "Oh yeah?"

"Yup." Eli got up from the picnic table and held out his hand. "Would you do me the honor of accompanying me to The Dot Milady?"

"Oh Eli! I'd love to!" Clare sounded as if she came right out of an old movie. She smiled again.

They walked hand in hand to Morty, and Eli opened the passenger door for Clare as always. On the way to The Dot Clare thought "Maybe chivalry isn't dead."
