It was a chilly night. The kind of night where its colder than nice, but not yet winter-like cold. The moon was out with the stars shining down on that pizza place. The same pizza place where I had had a job once. My friend was supposed to meet me there around 8 o'clock. I had arrived early and had already sat down when he walked in with his friends. I knew this was the perfect chance to finish my interview essay that was due in a week. The only problem was that I am an extreme introvert. There was no way in hell that I was going to approach him and his 'squad' first. After what seemed like years, but was only probably minutes, Lexi walked in and came to our table. She immediately started to talk about her day, but I was lost in thought. "y/n," Lexi looked at me and started to wave her hand in front of my face, "You realize that those guys are looking over here, at you?" "Wait. What?" I asked finally snapping into reality. "Yeah, the guys over there. You know the really hot group of like seven." "Shit. No way. Do you see what I'm wearing? What guy finds an XL t-shirt and sweatpants attractive? They are def staring at you, Lexi." I responded quickly glancing towards their table. And that is when I saw him staring right at me. He saw that I was now staring and flashed me the best smile I had ever seen. "Shit, Lexi. You are right. We need to go now" I whispered as I broke eye contact with the guy of every girl's dreams. "Hell to the no," Lexi responded. "I'm going to the bathroom first; you just go and pay and I'll be out in a few." And with that she got up and walked towards the bathroom. Without watching her or the guys, who were being almost obnoxiously loud, I got up and went to the register. After I finished paying, the cashier and I started talking. At one point I was pretty sure I remembered why I had quit my job here, as the guy continued to aggressively and to no avail hit on me. That was about the moment I heard Lexi yell my name. So of course I turned around to see what is was this time, and she was sitting with the group of guys, motioning me to join her. Probably looking about as stupid as I felt, I made my way over to the table after politely ending my conversation with the creepy cashier. "And this is my best friend, Y/n." Lexi was already introducing me by the time I reached the table, "She is really cool." She flashed a brilliant smile towards one of the guys, who was practically drooling over her. As usual, Lexi just had a way with making people like her almost instantly; however I was as awkward as a dolphin with a left foot instead of a flipper.
