Song : I Miss You - Sweetbox

Sakura finally took time off to wonder off alone in the woods. It's been many years since Sasuke's disappearance. She's grown up into a fine shinobi; surpassing Lady Tsunade. Sighing, she settled herself upon the grassy floor against a tall oak tree which provided her cool shade. The light up above projecting from the clear blue skies blinded her as she watched the birds fly by. When she thought she trained herself enough to forget about Sasuke, or at least never think about him, her mind drifted off. Before she knew it, she was reminiscing about Sasuke and the days with the old Team Seven. Wondering where he is, what and how he's doing, a song broke out and her voice was heard throughout the woods, singing.

"Don't -

Be afraid to cry.

It wasn't wasted time.

We just couldn't win that fight.

And I,

Knew you couldn't stay.

Had to go your way.

There's really nothing left to say.

And every now and then you cross my mind.

I try not to think about where you are tonight.

But I miss you.

Cuz I really miss you.

There's no going back,

cuz what's done,

is done.

But I miss you.

Cuz I really miss you.

But sometimes,

love just ain't enough."

She thought about the comrade-ship she had with Sasuke and realized how important their relationship was even though they weren't going out.

"Hey.

We didn't like the rules.

It wasn't me,

it wasn't you.

We both know that life,

is cruel."

The road that led out of Konoha crossed her mind. The road where Sasuke left his "Thank you" before leaving Sakura knocked out cold on a nearby stone bench, leaving Konoha for good.

"I know we can't go down the road again.

And it hurts to much to think we might have been."

Tears rolled down her cheek as she realized how much she could have given to Sasuke before he left.

"(But I miss you)

Couldn't hold you.

(Cuz I really miss you.)

Couldn't hold you.

Sometimes, it ain't enough."

Then she took final notice of the confidence she has builded over the years, finally understanding what Sasuke had to do for his own sake.

"I know you can't escape,

the past that you have chosen,

but every now and then,

I'm reminded.."

Sakura smiled that broad grin and adressed it to Sasuke, wherever he is. She's still in love yet, she can learn to let go of the past.
