I love Chloe and Jimmy together. They are so cute. He really wants to spend time with her. I also love Tess and Oliver. So I thought that Oliver would be in watchtower with Tess, s I thought about Jimmy's reaction to him being there. But I thought Chloe wouldn't be able to focus. So this is the result
...
Tess loves the feeling of Oliver's arms around her waist. Oddly enough, it clears her head. The closer he is the clearer she thinks. It's odd she knows, but it doesn't matter.
That's probably why she was so messed up while they were apart, when he hated her. When he couldn't look in her direction without scowling. When he's say her name with utter disgust. But that doesn't matter anymore. That's over, he doesn't think like that anymore.
It's also why she doesn't push him away, while she's working, the way Chloe does with the recently found Jimmy. Jimmy has noticed this and confronted Chloe about it numerous times. And Tess understands why he gets so frustrated, and she sort of feels sorry for him, but that doesn't make it any less amusing.
This is one of those times. Behind her, Tess hears Jimmy start up again. "Look at them! I just want to watch you! Oliver and Tess are practically one person right now. I just want to watch you work. Please, Chloe, I mean this is ridiculous! Seriously look at them!"
Tess can feel Oliver smirking,"Don't instigate," she whispers, so Chloe and Jimmy can't hear. Because she doesn't want Oliver to have to leave. She still feels him smirking though. But Oliver stays silent, as he always does while she works. And for that she's grateful.
"Well, Tess obviously has better concentration then I do," she pleads,"I can never work when you're here. You're very distracting." Chloe's attempting to sweet talk him into leaving. Tess doesn't need to turn around to know that Chloe's giving Jimmy the puppy dog eyes. And they generally work. After all, she's watched this argument a thousand times. Oliver and her both could reenact it perfectly.
But she doesn't say anything, but just smiles and keeps typing. Oliver whispers in her ear,"You're enjoying this aren't you?" "Maybe a tad bit," she replies. Because she is. She always does. She enjoys not needing to push him away. And she's very very grateful for her amazing concentration.
She knows that she most people would be distracted with their boyfriend's arms around them while they're working, but it gives Tess a feeling of contentment, of tranquility. Which she needs to focus, to really focus, anyway. If she's thinking about a million things she can't focus. And she feels safe when she's around him. Ad generally, nine hundred and ninety-nine of those things are protecting herself. So, things tend to work better when she's focused.
Jimmy leaves, and both Oliver and Tess know that Chloe has turned toward them. "You both love this, don't you? How do you work like that, Tess?" But Oliver just nuzzles his chin into Tess' neck. Tess answers for both of them, because Oliver answered last week, so it's her turn,"We don't enjoy it, Chloe. We find it amusing. Because, A)you two have the same conversation every single week, and B)it's very cute that he wants to spend time with you. And Oliver being here helps me focus." They both know Chloe's staring daggers at both of them,"It does not." "Yes, it does," Tess states simply, never taking her eyes off of the screen.
And every week Jimmy and Chloe will go through this routine, and Oliver and Tess will be in the same position, and Chloe will interrogate them. But no one minds. So they continue.
