Sarah

"No you aren't."

The teen blinked and shook her head.

"Mum told me you would deny me....Told me you weren't even worth telling....I told her she was wrong." She grabbed her book-bag and stood. "It's going to suck telling her she was right." She grabbed her notebook and walked quickly down the hall, but after a few seconds, she heard the scraping of chair legs against the floor, and the chair being knocked over as the person who had occupied it stood violently.

"Wait!" Remus yelled, and the girl turned around quickly, her straight, light brown hair whipping her in the face.

"What?" She asked, almost in a whisper.

"You...You, uhm..." He looked deep into her eyes and his expression was of utter helplessness and weariness. "You aren't lying?"

She shook her head.

"Why would I?"

Remus nodded.

"That much is true."

She glared at him.

"All of it's true!"

He nodded.

"Right..Well, what now? Why did you decide to contact me now? Is your Mum ok? Are you? Does she need money? Child Support, perhaps? After all these years I-"

"I need none of that."

"Then what did you come here for?"

"My Dad...And I'm sure I've found him...Unless he'd like to deny his part in my being alive again..."

Now, Remus smiled slightly and shook his head.

"No...I don't."

She stared at him for a few moments, then smiled awkwardly.

"Well, then...I have to catch my bus..."

"Where are you heading?"

"My flat, of course."

"How old are you exactly, uhm-"

"-Farrah. My name's Farrah."

Remus smiled...Monica had used the name he'd always loved for a baby girl...Even though he had left her, and never contacted her again, she had made sure Farrah always carried a part of her father, even if unknowingly.

"I'm 15."

Remus paled.

"15? And you're going to your flat? Farrah, that's hardly old enough for you to be galavanting about on your own."

He couldn't surpress this sudden burst of protectiveness before the words had left his mouth, and he was immensely surprised by them. Farrah stared at him for a moment, then replied: "Well, my Mum and I got in a fight about 2 months ago and-"

"You've been living on your own for 2 months?"

"Well, yes." She replied, a hint of pride in her voice.

"Let me come with you. Walk you to your bus and take you home, at least."

Her eyes grew wide.

"No...No, no. It's fine," she gave him an assuring smile. "I've been living on my own for 2 months! It's really fine."

"Well, I..." Remus was helpless. He didn't want his 15 year old daughter parading around town on her own....But he had no right to be parental...She had been "parading" around her whole life without him. "Are you...sure?" He ventured. "Is something wrong? Do you have company over?"

"No..I-" She looked down at her feet. "How could I have company at a time like this?"

He just barely caught her near silent words.

"What do you mean, 'at a time like this'?"

Farrah sighed and looked up at him.

"I don't want you around me at this time of the month..."

The corners of his mouth flicked up into a small smile he tried to surpress as he spoke softly.

"PMSing, aiy? Don't want me to get my head bit off, ehh?"

"Literally." She mumbled.

Remus furrowed his eyebrows.

"Literally?"

She looked up into his eyes...

She really had to tell him? He'd disown her before he accepted her...

But his eyes were boring into her's, and her face paled.

"I'm a werewolf." She whispered.
