A/N: This is the first in what will end up being a collection of drabbles. I don't know exactly who all will be included and will simply be adding to this as things come to me. Suggestions and reviews are welcome and appreciated.
The theme for this was Frost.
Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha, which is the intellectual property of Rumiko Takahashi, nor will I make any from this.
The cold lingers against her body made of earth. She is unable to feel the frost on her lips, or the chill in the air, but it was not always so.
She remembers the feeling of the snow crunching under her feet as she gathered winter herbs. And the way her toes would grow numb when she stayed out too long and let her tabi become soaked through. Remembering, she can almost feel the warmth of the fire and the way her body would tingle as its heat brought life back to her chilled flesh. But this is not the only warmth she remembers.
She recalls the heat of his gaze, defiant always, but also uncertain. She remembers the way he looked her and how it released her, bringing light to parts of herself that she thought would never be free to bask in the sun. She remembers the brilliance of hope and the burn of love.
She remembers him.
