Finally a family
I do not own Newsies in any way.
Jack and David were selling their papers when Jack heard, "Jackie!" Jack turned and said, "Munchkin!" Jack picked the little girl up. "Where's yer mom?" Jack asked.
"Fiona!" another voice called, "Dere youse are". A girl around 16 walked up. "Youse were supposed ta wait foa me", she said.
"David, dis is Melody and her daughter Fiona", Jack said, "Sorry, Ise didn' pick youse up dis moinin' doll. Gots busy".
"S'okay Jack", she said kissing him.
Jack, Melody, David, and Fiona went to Central Park. Jack was sitting against a tree with Melody's head in his lap.
Fiona was playing with a stray cat.
"Is she yours?" David asked Jack.
"Nah, Ise wish dough", Jack said stroking Melody's hair.
"Truth be told, Ise was a prostitute. Ise gots pregnant. Jack found me and da Manhattan newsies took me in, till Ise had Fiona. Jack was dere foa me every step of da way", Melody said.
"On da boith certificate, it has me as da faddah", Jack said.
"Where do you live?" David asked.
"In an apartment down from da lodgin' house", Melody said.
"How do you make money?" David asked.
"Jack and da newsies, along with Spot and some from Brooklyn. Its jist extra money. Me landlord doesn' make me pay rent", Melody said.
"Wow", David said.
"Mama!" Fiona yelled. Fiona ran right into Melody.
"Careful Munchkin", Jack said.
David looked at Jack and Melody. Melody was lying with her head on Jack's arm and Jack was letting Fiona play with his hat and bandana.
Jack finally found a family that worked for him.
