Scrooge finally passed away and thanks to Marly went to a better place. He had everything he could possibly want. Still he appeared to be sad.
"Mr. Scrooge," said the ghost of Christmas Past, "You appear sorrowful. Perhaps something is bothering you,"
"Something is," Scrooge said, "I am in a much better place right now. I have everything I could possibly want but there is something missing"
"If there's something you want all you need do is ask"
"Alright then," Scrooge said, "I want Jacob Marly to be here along with me. He belongs here as well. If it were not for him I would be suffering from his fate"
"Jacob Marley was a sinner," The ghost of Christmas Present pointed out
"Yes he was and he sinned like a pro. But if it weren't for him I would be where he is."
"That is true," said the ghost of Christmas Future, "It is not up to us but we will talk to the boss and see what he can do"
"Thank you"
The boss listened and answered quickly
"Let him in"
"But sir he was a sinner"
"Yes but the price has already been paid for his sin and for every other mans and womans and child," the boss said, "and he came to realize repentance"
"A little late wouldn't you think," someone argued
"I wouldn't think no," the boss said, "Let him in and unbind his chains."
"As you wish sir"
And that is how Jacob Marley earned his enterance to heaven
