she's in e minor

Lily was a bad girl – it was an undisputed and obvious fact. She was flirty, beautiful and sexy, and the boys loved her. She could get away with absolutely anything.

So no one teased her for her talents.

When Lily played, her tumbling curls were piled into a messy ponytail, her eyes were wild and her bow moved like lighting.

Lily's violin was an old one, passed down from some old, forgotten relative and she loved it with all her heart. It was a worn brown wood that looked a hundred years old – and it may well have been, because she'd lost count of the strengthening charms she'd got Rose to cast on it.

In the school orchestra, Lily was a first violinist and she did her job extremely well. Despite her hundred-mile-an-hour lifestyle, she never missed a practice, and every night the Slytherin common room was filled with sweet, pure music (but not until midnight, and there was always a silencing charm).

But, from time to time, the old, battered violin's tune would be melancholy and the wild eyes filled with tears. Lily was most definitely in a minor key – maybe E. E was the prettiest; her favourite to play in.

Yes. The music girl was in E minor.
