So... yeah. This is super-short T^T. This story is about Ciel... and God... like the title says. I guess I created this because of my changed religious identity. I AM NO LONGER AN ATHEIST POSING AS A PASTAFARIAN!!! I AM NOW A NEO-DRUID POSING AS A PASTAFARIAN!!! Please hold your applause till the end of this story, thank you. =D
Ciel had never really relied on God. He'd never really cared about Him. God meant so little to Ciel, he almost didn't believe.
Ciel's mother was very religious, she always tried to show Ciel that by the Bible was the way to live your life. Whether she really believed this or not, Ciel would never know. Because of his mother, Ciel had read the Bible. More than once, in fact. He despised it. Sure, it was a great story book, but there were huge gaps in everything from Adam and Eve to Noah's Ark, and even in the Story of Jesus.
His father, on the other hand, well, he'd never come out and say it, but Ciel knew he didn't believe.
So Ciel never really believed in God. But, after his mansion was burned down, his parents killed, and he himself humiliated and tortured, his beliefs in God, or lack there of, faltered.
Here was this tall, dark, and yes, Ciel had to admit, handsome man, come to save his life, and put into place at least a small semblance of Ciel's power, pride, and place in the world. This man, this wonderful, amazing man, that some might call a God-send, was, in fact, a demon. The very existence of this man broke the very basis of Ciel's beliefs. There could not be a demon without an angle, and there could not be an angle without a God, could there?
All of Ciel's thoughts, ideas, and beliefs came crashing down.
And this man, he took Ciel places he'd never dreamed of, he saw things he didn't even know existed. Death gods, angles, demons, everything! The more time he spent with this demon, the more he doubted his preconceived notions.
Of course the thought of worshiping this all-powerful God had never even crossed his mind. Why should he worship an all-powerful God who couldn't even save him from Hell?
"Young master." Sebastian walked into the room, the usual smile playing on his lips. He held a plate of some sweet pastry or something of the kind. He made his way across the room to Ciel's desk. Ciel was looking over the new product ideas for the Funtom Company. Sebastian placed the dish on Ciel's desk. Ciel did not hear Sebastian leave, and he could still feel the demon's stare on him.
"What do you want?" Ciel asked without looking up from his paperwork.
"Do you believe in God, my Lord?" Sebastian's question caught Ciel completely off guard.
"What?" Ciel practically whispered, looking up at Sebastian in surprise.
"Do you believe in God, my Lord?" A large smile played on Sebastian's lips, he knew he'd struck a nerve. Ciel composed himself before answering, so as to not waver in his answer.
"I don't see how that could be any of your business," Ciel said coldly, scowling.
"Of course, how silly of me. My sincerest apologizes, my Lord." Sebastian bowed and left without another word.
