Phil POV

I turned over in bed for what must have been the fifth time in two minutes. I couldn't get to sleep no matter how hard I tried. There wasn't even a reason for it! It was just my brain being annoying. I sighed and turned over again. I had been trying to get to sleep for the last two hours. I could hear Dan's soft snores next to me. At least he could sleep. I was contemplating just getting up and watching some crappy TV, but I was really tired, I just couldn't get to sleep.

Maybe it's because it is too hot in here. The window isn't open because Dan didn't want any moths flying in. that must be it. Without even thinking, I kicked the covers off me and down to the end of the bed. I heard a groan from next to me and realised I must have pushed them off a lot harder than I had expected.

"Phil." Dan mumbled sleepily.

"Sorry." I apologised.

"What's up?" He asked, turning so he was on his side.

"I cant sleep." I told him.

"Why not?" He asked, leaning on his elbow.

"Don't know." I said.

"Is that why you kicked the covers off?" He questioned. I nodded. He ran his finders through my hair.

"I'm really tired." I complained. I heard Dan chuckle next to me. "What?" I questioned.

"Nothing, it's just you're cute when you're frustrated." He said with another chuckle.

"Shut up." I said. "I just want to sleep." I said after a pause.

"You need to stop over working your brain." He told me.

"I'm not over working it. It's just being annoying." I said.

"Just stop thinking about everything and relax." He instructed. I nodded, doing what he said. I felt him move next to me. He grabbed the covers and pulled them back over us before lying down again.

I laid there, trying to relax, but my brain was working over time. Dan moved around a bit until he was comfortable.

"Come here." He said, opening his arms. I moved over to him a bit. He put his arm around me, pulling me closer to him so I was practically lying on his chest. I curled into him, slowly relaxing.

"Wanna hear a story?" Dan asked. I laughed slightly, but nodded anyway. "Okay. Once upon a time, there was a lion and a bear who were best friends." He started. I laughed. "Shh, don't laugh at my story." He said.

"Sorry." I said.

"Anyway, they were best friends. One day, the bear and the lion were just sitting together, talking like they usually do when the bear asked the lion what he was thinking about." Dan started running his hand through my hair gently. "The lion told him that he was thinking about what it would be like if they were together." I felt my eyes closing. He was telling the story of how we got together, but in animal form. "The bear said that they could always try it and see what it would be like, which then lion then agreed to. A year and a half later, they were still together, and the bear was helping the lion to sleep after a long day. The bear told the lion to keep in mind that he loved him and it would help him sleep, so the lion did and slowly, the lion fell asleep, dreaming of the bear. The end." Dan finished, still running his hand through my hair. "I'm not very good at story telling." He told me.

"I liked it." I mumbled sleepily.

"Just keep that in mid though. I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I told him.

"Get some sleep now." He said gently, kissing my head. I curled into him more, getting as close as possible.

"Night Dan." I said, feeling myself slowly being pulled into a dream-filled sleep.

"Night Phil." I heard Dan say, just before I fell into unconsciousness.
